Brave Earth: Prologue

Hahaha...a friend told me BE:P was on there now, but I didn't see it right off last night. For whatever reason, my Steam page has frozen, but I know a lot about this already so let's go!

I've been following this for a long time. No surprise I would know about something so much like CV3, huh lol. I remember voting through his tumblr page on the sprite color for the main character's horse like...2 years ago? And that was well into knowing about the project. Playable builds have gone out to some folks over the years and some have put up videos of it. I'm still pretty excited. Not that long ago, he was being critical of his project being possibly too derivative or a copy of Castlevania III without standing on its own, etc, to which I had said this:





Really, it's true. There's a WHOLE LOT of games and people that play games saying this, that and basically everything that scrolls to the side and has RPG elements is a "Metroidvania", but almost nothing is taking up the mantle of great classic Castlevania games. He is wanting to pay some tribute to it, but have his own thing in this. I'm pretty sure he will accomplish that.

I remember the guy being around from Guilty Gear. BE:P has taken a while because Kayin is a bit of an insane perfectionist. Everyone can look forward also to positive portrayals of females in his game. He has said himself he's aiming for something similar to what thrashinuva said - this won't be a IWBTG game, it's meant to be enjoyed by a bit of a wider audience, BUT, I can tell you it won't be an easy game. We should expect something around the same lines as an actual classicvania game, which should be the case anyway imo.

Anyway, all this to basically say: this gets my endorsement! Kayin is a pretty cool guy! His tumblr is HILARIOUS!

Oh, nice! I've been looking forward to Brave Earth for a while, but Kayin doesn't update kayin.moe very frequently so I wasn't paying attention, haha. I only found out it was going on Greenlight thanks to Purify's sig I'll vote for it, of course~

Bloodstained was already the exception to my interest due to me being sick as fuu of 2d sidescrollers...

But IWTBTG was fun and I anticipate Ill play this soon... I say this as someone so jaded with 2d platformers that I lost intwrest in megaman ages ago. I have no interest in shovel knight, and im even iffy about slain.

I found Shovel Knight to be pretty fun.

As far as Slain goes if I get the chance to try it, I'll let you know ^_^

BEP has now been Greenlit, had gotten up to #8 in the top 100, ending up at #10!

No date for release. I'll take a "when it's done" release, myself.
