alright, so I have been avoiding this forum for along time for the fear that I may never leave. so, my name is sam Clarke, I am the leader of dragon king development studio, we have been in the works for about 3/4 of a year. personally, I am the shadowmapper and I do other graphical stuff for ESCO'S SOTN HACKED, I am lead programmer for project LND (work paused), and am working on a new game called APART. as far as my reputation with *this* community, I started when I beat sotn when I was 2. ive played all of the other titles, dust: an elysian tale, and so on. I was waiting for IGA's return ever since he left konami, and all my friends thought I was CRAZY until the man makes 5.5 mill on kickstarter. I love to say I told you so. I feel guilty for not being a part of said kickstarter, but I am broke, and am building a 900$ gaming pc solely off of the money I find lying around the city of reading.
but right now, I make this post because: im worried. iga has this money, he has this team, heck he is even cheating by using UE4, and after 5 months of (....delayed) news postings, he is still complaining about SHADERS?? he has made all of this happen, and he hasn't even started programming gameplay? this has got to be a bad joke or a nightmare, because I started my new project less than 30 days ago and I am further along. oh, and I make 75% of the assets, and all of the code with room to expand it. problem #2: doesn't it seem a little weird? it seems like IGA is just a puppet, a mascot if you will. every time he makes an appearance, its so scripted. just all of this has got me worried. leave your comments below.

Hi dragonkd , welcome to the Bloodstained Community . We may need to move this thread to the Bloodstained Discussion. I'm not really sure what you're worried about. How is using UE4 cheating? It's a great engine used by many publishers and talented individuals. If IGA wanted to, he does not have to ask anyone's opinion on the shaders nor the game itself. Bloodstained is a Kickstarter project and we value the community's feedback. You may think that shaders are the only feature we worked on, but we are simultaneously working on numerous features that are not shared with the public yet. Keep in mind that this is a collaborated project between ArtPlay (IGA) and Inti Creates. We cannot share unless both parties are in an agreement. Of course we try to avoid delays, but sometimes it can be quite inevitable when other developers are involved. As an employee working next to IGA, I can assure you that without this man, this game would still be under the rocks. Every idea, designs, game features, story and just about everything related to Bloodstained are directed and reviewed by him. I hope this ease some of your worries.

Let me be straight with you here..
1 - It's wrong to call using UE4 cheating .. because you have just called 75% of the game developers today cheaters
2 - IGA is doing his best polishing every aspect of the game before he show it to the public .. I'm pretty sure that you would complain about a rushed game too. he also promised to show us some of the gameplay by E3 this year ( not me or you know what's implemented and what's not on the game engine, some companies can give you a solid trailer of a pre-alpha game making you feel like it's a finished game )
3 - if you're working with Esco, LND etc... I would suggest for you to put your words in a more professional way rather than calling people puppets or cheaters, since you're representing a member of a certain team ( don't take this personal though ) I'm just being honest here
if you're seeking for an answer, Mana has answered it properly.. we believe in IGA this is why we're supporting him for this project and the next!

I cannot say much As I'm only a backer with no experience with any programming skills at all from my perspectives, if this game cannot deliver the expectation, Kickstarter will be in bad reputation, in a really bad way As Bloodstained was kickstarted in a time where people are already skeptical on Kickstarter because of there are people who scammed the backer, and also the MN9 controversy But then, there are people still who backed this game, including me So, the only thing I can say is this, just like everyone in the kickstarter comments told me Have faith in IGA, because he will deliver

I went to school to learn how to make video games and i can tell you this, very rarely is a whole team working on a single aspect of a game, like mana said we are seeing bits and pieces of the whole project, chances are theres artists putting out concepts and sketches of areas monsters and weapons, theres coders already making spreadsheets of stats and crunchy bits to be plugged in once ue4 has been tooled to their liking, theres digital artists who are taking the art and making models and objects and areas, theres iga whos probably working on story and characters and signing off or giving advice and encouragement to all these groups, they obsessed over showing us shaders not because it was the only thing they were working on, but because the look of a game is important for setting the tone and iga wanted our opinions on the pieces of the game the players are going to interact with constantly, do we want a more realistic look or stylized, is the character immediately recognizable and easy to see or do they disappear into the environment and you actively have to keep up with them (ive actually played games where this has happened, you lose your char in the action or theyre so bland and gray/ brown that they blend into the scenery)
from the looks of the pictures so far theyve been working on lighting, shaders, the character model, the environment design, theyve figured out a way to do the platforming naturally instead of everything floating in midair, they have a good grasp of pathing worked out, and chances are theyre already working toward movement and weapon animation

...2? Two years old? Astaroth , ha, I knew you were in the industry somehow or another. You've had some really good insight into a lot of these topics... Anyway, ah...yeah. I wouldn't make assumptions, compare apples to wall meat, worry about the direction, etc. If Koji Igarashi isn't in charge, who is calling the shots then? There's really no one else in anything close to a director/producer role that we have any knowledge of. ...2?

OK, so I join BSFF, post a few things, log off, go back to programming. come back the next day and- OMG WTF??? (just a lot of posts.) it seems ive got the community's attention here. and I couldn't think of a better community to be "APART" of. lol. so I am just going to go through and post all of my rebuttles in one shot, as there seems to be a lot of misunderstanding.
#1: UE4 yes, I know game engines are the standard at this point. kindof a joke really.
#2general complaints: about the shaders, yeah, my point is that all they have shown. maybe I am just overreacting.
#3 puppet comment: it seems to me that iga is just reading off of a script. everything that gets done is in a short timeframe, and its only what "the fans want to see". I don't know if anyone else really understands what I mean here. no, I have not lost faith in the man, I didn't scour the internet WEEKLY for any information on his whereabouts for nothing.
might as well finish introducing myself. again, sam Clarke. I am an artist, I do (some) modelling, I cant write shaders, but i am very good at uv mapping, and making textures/effect maps. i don't do much sprite work, but here. i am sure you can figure out what this is.
i am pretty satisfied with it. so, i also do music, (ironically) most of it being CV remixes.
i have about 130 more... idk if i should be worried about that or not. the DC remix is my first ever, so it may be of lower quality.
of course, most of my time goes to programming. I AM PRETTY SURE YOU ALL KNOW WHERE TO FIND ESCO 0.=.- here is old LND, before i rebuilt the engine www.indiedb.com/games/project-lnd/downloads if you look hard enough *coughs zelda64.net you can find a DL of the new engine.
APART isn't publicly known yet, but i think i can trust you guys to keep a secret?
as i said, the project is still under wraps.
if you like me, my work, my attitude or my philosophy, feel free to idk. have fun and don't forget to breathe. i mean unless you don't need to. i forget often.
