PREQUEL MINIGAME
Prequel minigame was described as this: "The Prequel Mini-Game (...) is the kind of thing Inti has done before -- see Mighty Gunvolt -- but rather than a crossover, this game will be set entirely within the Bloodstained universe, casting some light on the events that transpired prior to Miriam's awakening".
8 BITS? 16 BITS? 32 BITS?
There has been this discussion about the Prequel Minigame, and there is no official answer at the moment. Would you prefer it to be made 8 bits style (Castlevania 3, Megaman 1~6), 16 bits (Castlevania 4, Demon's Crest), or 32 bits (Symphony of the Night, Megaman X4)? WHO WILL BE THE PLAYABLE CHARACTER?
Zangetsu seems to be the most obvious option, but it could be Johannes too. Or maybe someone new, like a member of the alchemist Guild, or a survivor from the Guild's experiments.

I think it would be cool to have a prequel mini-game in the style of CV3 (NES) and have Miriam, Gebel, and Johannes as playable characters that you can hot-swap. The story would cover the events that led Miriam, Gebel, and Johannes to go from good friends to a broken relationship. It would be cool if the game played like Classic Mode, but with lots of cutscenes in the style of SotN dialogues to tell the story.

Im really hoping that Zangetsu turns out to be the protagonist here. He's certainly the closest character we have to a Belmont in a number of ways. To me the usage of the word "classic" to describe the nature of the mini game, along with it pretty much confirmed to be a linear experience, implies a Belmont-type experience. As far as gameplay goes a sword can serve an identical function to the classic whip so he's just the most obvious pick from my perspective.
As to the game's artstyle, its really hard to predict what they'll end up doing. Id love something visually similar to Bloodlines but that's just me.

Capcom did something similar for a press kit when MegaMan 9 came out. They used old carts they had, removed all contents and put a CD inside the cart. I don't think Iga-San has access to carts but it would be a cool case anyway. Always thought the mini-game was a dlc-code. |

I don't think it will be a full fledged "game". I'd be happy with something that has some sort of replay ability but relatively short. Something akin to Chapter 10 from CV HD. Basically, the whole first CV wrapped in 1 level. add drops to play over and over.

i just want to thank everyone that has posted to this thread. i am glad that there are people that still like the older games. 8bit 16bit games. and i never had thought that people would be taking things this far in my one of my posts. to be hones this is the first forum that i have joined. and i think that this was the first post that i have ever made.
