I'd love to see Soshiro Hokkai contribute to the music of Bloodstained. His effort with HoD probably resulted in the best musical compositions for any of the IGA games, I think. This is regardless of the quality of the sound... (which I think is superb and gets the job done).
The dissonances introduced in the musical compositions made the atmospheric element of HoD intriguing in ways that other soundtracks lack.

I wonder how many area themes that Ippo Yamada will compose. Is it just going to be Michiru Yamane who composes the background music for each part of Gebel's Castle? I'm definitely liking "Cursed Orphan", and I can't help but expect some "Megaman Zero"-esque themes from Yamada, especially for combat against Bosses. If he's going to do background music for parts of Gebel's Castle, I'd expect a rhythm that pumps you up for action.

My favorite Igavania tunes crafted by none other than the infamous Michiru Yamane are (in no particular order):
- Dance of Pales (SotN) - Crystal Teardrop (SotN) - Dracula's Tears (Dawn of Sorrow) - Heavenly Doorway (SotN)
Non-Igavania originals that I would love to see some new remixes on include: - Bloody Tears - Super Castlevania IV: Stage 2 (Graveyard)

I remember seeing in the stream at the end of the kickstarter that Ippo thinks Yamane should be doing the majority of the work. Like his duties will be put elsewhere. I also remember Yamane saying she hopes to do some guitar oriented tracks as well.

Who else is on board for music with some more unconventional time signatures?
I really love how Subterranean Hell from DoS dares to us 7/8, 6/8 and 5/8 all in the same track. The transiotions happen so seamlessly and it makes for very interesting rhythms.
Another example is Dracula's Theme from HoD with its clever use of 7/8 to make the atmosphere even more eerie when you meet Dracula. I just think it's done really well here because at first we only notice it subconsciously but it has a strong effect and makes for some interesting changes in the games' soundtracks.

I mean Michiru is on the composition team for music so I'm sure that the soundtrack will be killer. I don't really know much about Ippo but...his material sounds pretty gothic horror to me so it'll fill in really nicely. I really hope that the music for Bloodstained is elegant, because I think that the music should reflect on the protagonist and I mean c'mon, Miriam's a pretty classy girl, amiright? (just look at dat avatar :p) But yeah I'm super stoked for the soundtrack, and even more stoked that I'll be getting it when it comes out!!
Anyway, for my four favorite tracks, it's hard to pick but...I narrowed it down to these:
1. Dracula's Tears (Dawn of Sorrow)
I don't know what it is...classy...elegant, yet keeps up the vibe of the game with it's refreshing synth marimba and hollowed glass-sounding electro along with the dance oriented percussion definitely saying "Hey, I'm a 2d platformer, and as far as I'm concerned that map isn't 100%, so KEEP EXPLORING." that just makes you wanna keep trekking on. Definitely inspiring, and also definitely important for an exploration oriented series such as the IGAvanias of course are.
2. Aquarius Remix (Circle of the Moon)
Is that a synth bass guitar I hear? ;] Yeah it sure is, along with the military waltz sorta percussion going on, this track definitely has me dancing around the room more than I'd care to admit. Yeah, yeah I know that CoM's music reception isn't that great due to the heavy use of remixes but anyone who doesn't think this is a great track...well...I have but one word for those kind of people. Deaf. Ahahaha.
3. Dance of Illusions (Symphony of the Night)
Maaaaan...just play AWAY at that church organ. If this doesn't instill the feeling of good vs evil in a video game I don't know what will. And I think that is a very important piece when it comes to gaming, is a signature element to baddies, and music is no exception. Throughout the many times that you fight Dracula in the series, you can always count on this theme being playing in some form or shape. Truly as signature as Vampirekiller, in my humble opinion. :p
4. Bloodlines Bequeathed (Portrait of Ruin)
Oooh...didja hear it? OH there it was again...that sharp clavelectro mixed with a rock percussion set, along with 8-bit inspired synthesizers that I don't know the names of...YET. It's just...magical. And Richter? AHA. A pushover. Don't let him push you around ehehe. But yeah, PoR is definitely a title I don't hear very much about, usually the big attention seekers being Symphony of the Night and Order of Eclessia, which is a shame because the music and gameplay are both absolutely phenomenal. 10/10
So anyway, those are my picks, hopefully you guys like 'em!

I'm loving the tracks we've already heard but I'm REALLY hoping we get some more tracks that go pure 1700's in sound and less drum/bass focus.
Stuff like this. I think SOTN above all is so special to me because the music transports me TO that time period, it helped make the experience so believe to me. This pure classical music type feeling just sold me so well.
I do love the hidden music track that was on the demo though, it's very close to the above. ( close!)

I totally agree, music has a large, and usually (unfortunately) unnoticed affect on a game's atmosphere. From what we've heard, I think that the soundtrack will be elegant, if nothing else. (At least michiru's tracks will be) I think from what we've heard so far, there isn't much to doubt. I personally think that the OST will be killer. ALSO I agree that Symphony of the Night had one of the best soundtracks of any of IGA's works. :p

I'll just go ahead and commit necromancy here, with a music-related question to Mana. Mana Have you checked out this fan-made Bloodstained bgm yet?: "Cave of Lost Souls"I've already tried submitting this composition by Michael Kelly (Garoad) to the Design Review Thread. Let's see what you think of it! Personally, it sounds to me like it belongs in Symphony of the Night.

Alright, I'm finally in a position where I can take some time to respond to this topic, as the music of Castlevania (and therefore Bloodstained) is very important to me as well. Only picking 4 Yamane songs is going to be tough, since she has so, so many good tracks, but I'm going to try. First, I want to clarify what I'm looking for in a 'vania soundtrack. I'm more in favor of songs that mix a catchy beat with atmosphere. Making a song too pop-ish (like Wicked Child from Castlevania Chronicles) is alright, but not quite what I'm looking for. At the same time, making a really dark, foreboding song (like Door to the Abyss from SOTN) skew too far away from that *catchy* feel. Now, I am not saying these are BAD tracks, both of them are quite good, but its not 100% what I really, really enjoy listening to in these games. So lets see what kinds of songs I really enjoy (note, these are not necessarily in order of my favorites , I'm just listing as I think): 1. Aiolon Cave Temple from Curse of Darkness Curse of Darkness is, without a doubt, my favorite videogame soundtrack: and this track perfectly demonstrates what I'm looking for in Bloodstained: Its moody and atmospheric but it also has a beat I can (and do) bob my head to when listening. This, to me, just oozes "gothic adventure game" 2. Mortvia Aqueduct also from Curse of Darkness Not as moody and mysterious as the previous track, but this nails a more upbeat, adventurous sound without sacrificing the mood the game wants to establish. Its a grand quest, but a grand quest full of zombies, vampires and ghosts. 3. An Empty Tome from Order of Ecclesia Ahhh, my favorite track from my favorite IGAvania. How I love this song. This song so perfectly encapsulates this moment: Shanoa has lost everything, everything she thought she believed in was a lie, but she doesn't despair: she storms the castle, and by god she is going to stomp Dracula right back into the dirt where he belongs! Its a very heroic theme, and I adore it. 4. The Gears Go Awry from Portrait of Ruin Boy howdy: Yamane sure got the DS soundcard to perfectly nail that "Vampire Castle" feel with this track. The rhythm here is fantastic, and it still sounds like I'm listening to some haunted organ. A really great track. 5. Anti-Soul Mystery Lab from Lament of Innocence Now, I really actually like the techno versions of Vampire Killer and Wicked Child from Chronicles on PS1, but I admit they are a bit at odds with the series, but this track? This track, to me, shows that you can absolutely take a synth/techno beat and have it fit a gloomy, gothic castle. Its that mix of the synth beats, sweeping backdrop and eerie choir. 6. Wandering The Crystal Blue also from Order of Ecclesia This is a really nice piece that nails that mysterious, melancholic sound (really fits underwater as well) but, again, doesn't sacrifice the pleasant rhythm I like to hear. 7. Heart of Fire from Aria of Sorrow Aw yeah! Th Julius fight! What a great way to take 2 classic songs, put them together, and turn them into one of the coolest boss themes in the series. This is absolutely a track worthy of fighting a true Vampire Hunter! its important for a boss to feel climactic, and the music is often a huge reason a good boss becomes a great boss. I could do this all day, but I'll stop here to keep my post from turning into a true tl;dr EDIT: and obviously I utterly failed to only pick 4 Yamane songs to get my point across :3
