From the vids of the demo we can see that several monsters have different reactions to damage including death animations. Miriam herself also has different animations depending on how she receives damage (front, back, below)This likely isn't a full list, even of whats in the demo, but it shows the detail of what they are doing so far.

If Miriam's status effects involve the level of corruption her curse gives her, I would say that when she is killed at nearly full corruption that she would shatter like broken glass. Gruesome, but fitting.

Rixuel just posted this video in the shoutbox of a Miriam that dies: Animation looks straight out of SOTN. I'm sure that will please some people but I think its kind of boring and a meh choice to pretty much copy and paste this. Ah well.

It probably works better if there is some force made towards her, instead of Miriam just flying away when Morte touches her. Add a chilling death scream and it'll work better. Hopefully, there'll be multiple different death animations. Thanks for posting the video, crocodile .

I'm pretty sure that Miriam will end up with a different 'death' animation, too. Probably more related to her crystal curse.
Assuming Zangetsu will be a playable character, I'd say the SotN death animation would suit him more. That, or the one from Portrait of Ruin.

Monsters in the demo had different animations when they died but I feel that it's not enough thanks to the brilliant ideas posted here.

I'm sure with the final product there'll be a lot more diversity with the enemy pool. I mean Dullahammer has a unique animation, and so does Morte. I think there'll be skeleton-esqe enemies that will have similar animations. And don't worry, Inti Creates will come up with some cool crap. I mean that animation when you obtain a new shard is absolutely PHENOMENAL. Even Iga said in the twitch that he "got goosebumps" the first time that he saw the animation. The only thing that I am worried about is the item drop. I hope that the items have their own unique drop images, rather than the generic 'loot bag' that we saw in the demo. :/

Hey, just remember. This is ONLY a demo meant to give us SOMETHING to see. I'm sure there is all kinds of stuff that we haven't a clue about that's coming. Including death animations. I mean I could see the one depicted above if she gets hit, one that she just slumps over and dies, one that she is consumed by the curse and crumbles, and as was proposed earlier one where she is consumed and shatters. Either way, the best we can do is keep making our suggestions and wait for the actual beta.

I'm not surprised at the same time because the dev team are HUGE SOTN fans, you can see there's a lot of influence here from her animations to some gameplay functions. I absolutely love Alucard's death animation but it goes beyond this as your whole body turns to blood, but i agree they could TAKE that idea and make it more geared towards this. She could twirl and her body breaks apart into pieces of glass shards with blood.

It was mentioned in the other thread, but I think Miriam breaking up into crystals might be good as a separate death animation. From what I understood in the campaign, there's a crystal curse mechanic where some abilities would make her more crystalized, so if she dies in that state a crystal rather than blood shower would make sense EDIT: Haha, ukshadow said the same thing, great minds think alike XD
