So, the Treehouse Stream just showed us that outfit customization is a thing, which is a neat idea. As a fan of medieval stuff, and the knight orders in general, I'd enjoy putting Link in various medieval armors.
Beyond that, the Zelda world seems so... primitive. There seems to be so little in the way of man-made structures and such. I'm sure there are towns somewhere, but it does make me wonder what the current status of civilizations is in this Zelda game.

I was just saying in the Shoutbox... it seems to me like Breath of the Wild could be part of the "Downfall" Timeline (Timeline C) officially established in the Hyrule Historia.

*ahem* New Zelda amiibos for a 2017 release.
They certainly look nice, and I am an amiibo collector (63 amiibos as of writing), but I'm reaching the point where I need to be conscious of space issues on my amiibo shelves, so I need to see their in-game functionality before I make any particular purchasing plans.
The Guardian amiibo irks me for space issues. Thanks to its legs, it'll take up about 4x the space of other amiibos.

Towns are confirmed. Koroks are in it, which suggests that this takes places a long time after Wind Waker (after the ocean sank back down to normal levels), which took place a long time after Ocarina of Time. All of this is semi-supported by the advanced technology of the Sheikah that has been demonstrated through Link's hyper advanced "tablet", and the extremely dilapidated Temple of Time, which bears strong resemblance to the same one in OoT. Bokoblins also are very similar to their Wind Waker counterparts, as opposed to any other version of them. However, the Master Sword in the title logo looks like the Skyward Sword Master Sword, which looks a lot like the Twilight Princess Master Sword. However regardless of its form, it's been shown to transform repeatedly, and so its form doesn't matter all that much. But, you know... they're probably just reusing assets and junk. I have plenty of theories that probably don't really even matter to the actual game, but I do find it interesting that Link was basically in a stasis pod. That makes me think someone from the future went into the past, to put the Hero of Time to sleep, so that he'd be around in an age that didn't have a Hero of Time. That's just a wild guess, not a spoiler.

The usage of the Wolf Link amiibo was revealed earlier today. Scanning the Wolf Link amiibo will make Wolf Link appear and serve as a companion for Link. By default he has three hearts, but he'll have more if you have hearts saved to the amiibo via the Cave of Shadows in Twilight Princess HD. (For me, he would have about 12-14 hearts when I scan him into the game.)

I have to say Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild looks great so far. The environment is really cool and detailed, the gameplay, at its core, was quite interesting, and the new system they got going looks to be quite interesting. I'm very interested in these "Shrines" in the game and the power you gain by going into them. They "said" there was over 100 Shrines I'm curious as to what they all do. That is probably something that we'll have to wait and see.
I was kinda wary about the weapons breaking, having Elder Scrolls: Oblivion flashbacks, but it definitely adds a new "dynamic" to how you play.
Overall, I was impressed by the demo they showed. It was very nicely done.

The weapons practically "exploded" when they broke so I guess if they could be repaired, you would want to do so before that happened. Although, considering the "commonality" of the weapons themselves, even the almighty Branch of the Oldest Elder Tree (the stick) can be used as a weapon, you may not be able to repair them. I'm curious if his armor breaks as well. He was shown wearing metal armor in the trailer but did't have that in the actual demon. I also wonder if that has other effects such as making him heavier (like the Iron Boots) or if it depletes his stamina faster, of it makes climbing harder.

It doesn't seem like armor breaks to any extent, though maybe no one played the demo long enough to get it damaged enough for it to break. It seems like you'll be hunting different shirts and pants in order to go through various circumstances. Imagine the Water Dungeon, or Magnet Dungeon, but instead of using an Iron Boots item, you just wear metal armor, to sink or magnetize yourself. Though switching armor that often seems like it'd be a pain.

Though switching armor that often seems like it'd be a pain. That's true. The clothing he was wearing did have some sort of "value" next to it. I think the first shirt he got had a "2" or something. I'm assuming that reduces incoming damage which could mean that some enemies are quite powerful. It might be something else though, it might not meaning anything at all. Yeah, that sounds very tedious. Although, I do like the idea of magnetizing the armor so you can walk on the walls or on the ceiling. The downside of sinking in water is that you'll drown. Perhaps there is a suit of armor that works like the Zora Armor from Twilight Princess. I guess we'll know TBD 2017.

well, other than the fact he cant attack unarmed (unless they were hitting an unsheath button and not the attack button) i can see some crazy people doing a naked run with the first sword since that one doesnt get destroyed when you throw it and may be unbreakable >P

If it doesn't then I'll probably use that one almost exclusively.

in one of the nintendo portions the person playing was able to throw the sword i think 3 times and retrieve it (think it was during jirards playthrough), every other time i saw people throw a weapon it was destroyed, but i dont know if it was because the sword didnt actually hit anything (he was throwing it into empty field) or because it/metal weapons have a much higher durability and so can take being thrown more than once (most of the other thrown weapons i saw were boko clubs and such) or if that particular sword is unbreakable but has very low damage to give you something to fall back on if you run out of weapons since there doesnt seem to be an unarmed combat option
an hour of gameplay stitched together from the treehouse
This is it! The master sword! ... ... ... No, this can't be it... too bad. >P

Well, I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I'm convinced.
I think that's exactly what Aonuma will confirm about this game's timeline placement...and about the Link we'll be playing as.
