I find it amusing there are 0 votes for prerendered animation.
While full on "anime" for a lot of scenes may not be doable, something like the partially animated artwork scenes like used with OoE might be cost-efficient enough and give us more neat Inti artwork to look at. Or maybe something like a manga with visual effects? That may get old after a while if used too much, though. If there's any anime at all, it will probably be kept pretty short, just as an intro, like with Dawn of Sorrow.
But yeah, I would be fine with SotN (or Igavania in general) style portraits, text boxes and voice acting with appropriate gesturing from the characters. I think that fits pretty well with the games.

my preference is the textplates for conversation, for actual cutscenes go wtih an in engine style similar to ggxrd (no extra resources would be needed for that and you can acomplish almost anything you want with camera angles and special animations), and for an attractor i have no problems with an anime styled mashup of scenes similar to the ds CV games

Anime cut scenes would be pretty cool, however, as seen with Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN-, having 3D mimic 2D sprites can be just as amazing if not more so I wouldn't mind having the best of both worlds though~

Yes, and then we get Miriam in Xrd! Next logical step.
What?

I would perfer game engine real time. I dont want the game to look to animeish, i just really loved semi realistic gothic style the characters have.

I would love to have anime cut-scenes are certain points, especially for the beginning of the game, the end of the game, and during certain points encountering new faces and new areas.
However after seeing how much it costs for an anime looking at the Red Ash Anime Kickstarter I can understand such a thing might not be possible within the budget line, then again their asking for funding for full anime episodes not quick scenes.
If they do decide the anime route I hope it captures the foreboding atmosphere of the castle, for the rest of the game I don't mind game engine real time animation for the lesser scenes

Make it in-game, it could be like the Metal Gear Solid Codec Conversations. Make it cheap there and spend the money in other places in the game's development.

See, one of the things that really bugged me and divorced me from a "full on Castlevania experience" was the anime art in place of Ayami Kojima's art in Dawn of Sorrow and Portrait of Ruin. Although I love a good chunk of anime shows, I don't think it would be something that people from all across the Castlevania fandom spectrum would be too ready to assimilate with an open heart in the long run. Given the graphics style, game engine dialogue should do the trick.

I would like to see both. In many games, there is two types of cinematics. With the common dialogues, you oftenly see CG animation several times and for special moment during the storyline (opening, ending, climax moment, turn over), there is a whole animation.
I am curious to see what IGA will do with this but I hope it will not have too much animations though, it is still a game and it is like pepper, you got to put the correct quantity.

It wouldn't bother me anime scenes if they just keep it with a dark tone, I don't want it to have over exaggerated facial expressions. But I choose engine cut scenes But if there's anime scenes; about the fight cut scenes, what kind of violence would you like?
