Now I can finally beat that boss using my feet.
Edit: I do not see myself as a weak player. I see myself as a player that want to finish a game without too many fails. Games that makes me fail are games I give up on. Cheats can be everything from a code to asking people on forums "where is that item", whatever you say - it IS cheating.
I see myself as a bad player, meaning.. In FPS I can't aim, this is why I play against AI and not people. In survival games I play rather against nature than people. So no PvP, only PvE. In singleplayer games I love the feeling of OPTIONS. Cheatcodes that make the game easier or harder is most welcome.
A cheatcode making you more or less immortal can give you the time to try out some bugs, exploits and such that might be needed - and a communication to actually fix the problem.
So cheat in games, not in real life people. <3

Personally, I can't stand cheats. Reverting to cheats to beat a game reflects the weakness of the player. On the other hand, I prefer them to DLC for every little thing. Also, there are "Easter egg" cheats like the Axe Armor mode in Symphony of the Night, which would actually be really cool.

I don't see cheats as something for a 'weak' player only. To me, cheats make replay fun. Something to try, gauge how different the game is the next few plays.
Depending on the cheat, it increases replay value.

Hylian our community manager Mana reads posts here all the time. She is in the same small office as IGA every day, so what you say does indeed matter. From my personal opinion based on interviews, I'm pretty sure IGA is doing things largely his own way, but also being aware of what the community thinks is always a priority. Priority in inspiration at least. Gamers aren't always right, and in the longrun the developers always have to make choices. Everything from marketing and design to coding and features that might end up in the game. But yeah, it is really cool they keep tabs on us. And I think the vote system here are very cool too, especially if there are many that have voted. That at least must give a clean and "fast" hint on whatever the subject may be. So getting into the topic. Cheat codes, voices of the characters, enemies and such. A vote would be nice if the developers would like to know anything. I hope Mana would give you XombieMike, or any of us an idea of what they wanna know. It would be narrow subjects and easier for us to give the opinion. I think they have the most of the game already done. When it comes to cheat codes, it seems IGA still have all those cards in his hand. Any other subject would be fitting to have a vote, except those that are already made up.. Like.. The story, the system and such.

Bouncy castle - jump 2x as high and have a second jump upon landing. enemies who jump also effected?
escape the castle, start at the top and be timed to run to the entrance as fast as possible...
Yamane mode, attacks with instruments
mini mode, tiny sprite only do 1 damage no matter the weapon...

SERIOUS Cheat Codes
Lose Power-Ups: Every single time Miriam gets hit by an enemy attack, she loses the last Shard she gained (except for "relic" Shards needed for traversing the Castle).
Sub-Weapons: This code specifically only affects Zangetsu [assuming he's one of the playable characters]. His Ofuda paper-charm spells will no longer use MP, but will instead require collecting "ammo" (crystal roses) to use them as his "sub-weapons".
SILLY Cheat Codes
"8-Bit" Mode: The character you control is turned into an 8-bit sprite version of him/herself.
Moonwalk: The basic walking animation of the character you control now faces backwards while moving forward.
Megalomania: Every time the character you control kills a Boss, they lose themselves in a fit of maniacal [or diabolical] evil laughter.
Masochism: When the character you control is hit by an enemy attack, they'll [occasionally] let out a suggestive moan, and their character-portraits will briefly show their cheeks blushing and mouths open. Additionally, whenever Miriam gains a new Shard (complete with the animation of it piercing through her body) she'll also moan suggestively. ^ This last one ought to give the voice-cast a few laughs.

Galamoth actually, I'd prefer Miriam to drop a shard each time she is hit and she would have to collect it back (I would prefer for them to not disappear after a little while then). Let's call it "punctured pockets".

What would you guys think about a cheat or mode that disables the selection of shards and auto equips the latest shard an enemy has dropped? Maybe increase shard drop rate as well...?
It reminds me of the way sub weapons worked in older Castlevania titles. You had to make the best out of the sub weapon you had.
Also if anyone here is like me, then you probably used only like 10 souls out of hundreds in Dawn and Aria. Once you find a better bullet soul you never have a reason to equip the previous one you had.
I feel like the entire dynamic of the game changes when you're forced to use a subweapon you're not comfortable using. This would be after playing the regular game of course.

It was in my thoughts when I talked about Nightmare Difficulty having a settings where you could change around with those features. On / Off, change ratings, procentage, health, spawnrate and more. It got lost in translation somewhere.

I like this, maybe only for standard projectiles though. There will be some shards you're required to switch to in order to progress in the game (aside from obvious ability ones) like the directional aimed fire cannon, so as long as it's not overwriting a category where a shard is tied to game progression, absolutely. I think it could be great for simulating the classicvania (VERY classicvania, the oldest ones) feeling of being stuck with the subweapon drop you just got lol.

Wow - I guess this forum is pretty lenient about thread necromancy (which is cool  . At any rate - here's my suggestion: In keeping with the stained glass theme, why not have a fully stained glass Miriam? If any of you played Castlevania 64, there were stained glass knights that would spawn around windows and I think it would be neat to have an alternate sprite of her character. Just my 2 cents...

What I mean is like with the directional shard fire blast, and I imagine it's only one example of this happening, you'll need that particular shard at various parts of the game to light fuses for cannons and wherever else. If your shards get overwritten that have progression tied to them, then you will have to go back to wherever that enemy was to get it again and hopefully not kill another enemy on your way back again to where you need it. They could circumvent this by placing enemies with the requisite abilities always around where you need to use the shards, but I think that kind of subverts and weakens the design some and figuring things out. For example, you get Morte Bone in the temple level, but to open something up you need Morte Cannon. So, all the way back to the Galleon for you.
