So... yeah. Gratuitous butt shots, boobie shots, phallic magic attacks, and EROTIC VIOLENCE. I don't know about you, but I find it all incredibly tasteful and not in the least bit out-of-place. Konami knows what they're doing and Castlevania has a bright future ahead of it.
But seriously, I'm not sure if this is a commercial for the game or something that plays on the pachinko machine itself. But it is pretty ridiculous.

Whip tip between breasts? I see Konami employees got a lesson in subtlety from Kojima. If everything I've learned about Freudian psychology is anything to go by, I think it's less about subtlety and more about Konami emloyees' subconscious desire for sex showing through their work.

Well they are marketing with the phrase "Erotic Violence", so that was to be expected... though I still don't know why Konami is doing this.

For the same reason you should believe a hundred dollar bill is no more than a hundred pennies! And there's the whole changing trends in gaming thing going on over in Japan and I think they want to adapt their business model in order to make money off of that.

Erotic violence. This is whoring out my favorite game series. It is offensive because to focus so heavily on that theme makes Castlevania something it's not supposed to be. This is obviously marketed toward a specific audience, but was this really necessary at a time like this for our beloved IP? Konami dosen't give half a shit about what the rest of the world thinks about Castlevania and this is a nail in the coffin of proof. I'm glad Iga isn't attached to this. We get a strong female lead in Bloodstained, which I hope says something here about the contrast between Igarashi and Konami.
This isn't off topic, so I'm moving it to General Bloodstained Discussion. For future reference, I don't mind seeing Castlevania specific threads in the Bloodstained area.
I like pachinko machines, and if I had to pick one out of a room full of them to play how could a Castlevania fan not want to check it out? I don't know how long I would sit at it though, because the whole time I would be thinking "this is what Castlevania has been reduced to?"
I hope my opinion doesn't offend, but I don't mind nudity in Castlevania. In SotN Succubus was obviously playing on gamer's sexual interests. Heck, her character art uncensored shows full breasts. But she's a freakin succubus for crying out loud so it fits perfectly well on why the explicit stuff is there. If there are statues that show some nudity in backgrounds, it art that fits the setting. There are plenty of naked statues out there in very classy places. It's a demon castle, so don't shy away from adult stuff. Miriam's castle is probably less inclined to have such things, because Gebel supposedly summoned it for her. My point here though is that Succubus wasn't the selling point to the market.
Iga has been attacked in the past as sexist, and has proven very obliviously since then that he is not. I think there is a bit of a culture difference, but what would I know? CV Judgement focused too much on boobs too. Was it supposed to be funny? It's just awkward, and problematic. I suppose everyone has a different opinion on what Castlevania is to them, but to me it never has been and never should be "erotic violence".

They know their market. Older Japanese men who hold certain franchises close to their hearts and are also lonely, but have money to spend on gambling.
SNK does this with their IPs and it's just as frustrating to me. "Oh, they're hiring 3D artists again?! Wow, this new Samurai Showdown/KOF CG is really amazing! Er, wait...it's another pachi game..."
It's such a low cost, high return thing for them to do. Same with mobile games. Those are almost like gambling in a way, too, kind of playing to the addiction side of us.
edit: Oh by the way, I was in Vegas this past year for Evo and saw a Konami Dungeons & Dragons slot machine right in the middle of a random casino...copyright in 2014 as a I recall, but seemed completely new.

While I don't necessarily agree with the art direction they are for these pachinko games one needs to be mindful of the audience which Konami is pandering towards. Pachinko machines as I understand them are similar to the slot machines of Western casinos. Naturally the red-blooded male is going to be drawn to the promise of 'erotic violence' to accompany his gambling experience, just as Western slot machines are bedecked with garish designs as well. These slot machines have their own art style and allure which seems alien to someone like myself who isn't prone to gambling, but it is as they say...different strokes for different folks.

I've lost all interest in bloodstained... this is my only interest in all gaming. KIDDING...
Seriously though.
The only pachinko machines I know are old ones released in the west back in like the 30s-50s or something.. which basically involved dumping a little ball or puck at the top of a cabinet that was basically an obstacle course of pegs that would bounce said ball/puck around, where you the player hope it lands on specific areas on the bottom that represent good scores opposed to bad or no score landing zones. I have no idea how modern Japanese 'pachislot' machines compare to these, as the only thing I ever see from them are videos and whatnot.
In any case I understand that these are for gambling establishments, which are adult only, and while I can say as an adult that just because I'm over 18 doesn't mean I want ero-whatever in everything possible, I certainly meet enough people who can't help but mention it enough times to respect that there is a large amount of people who really do like sex in everything possible, add the fact that Asian culture seems to embrace the desire for sex on a casual basis, and I don't think this is an insult or a smear on the castlevania name. Is it sad that they make this and NOT a traditional castlevania game!? heck yes, I'm pissed off about that. But the existance of these things really don't affect the development of the games we WANT IMO...and if anything it may keep the castlevania name alive long enough for a new ambitious CEO in Konami or something when we get one to say "Hey, why aren't we making castlevania games anymore?". But if there was no castlevania at ALL for god knows how long, chances are newcoming staff would be less aware IMO.
edit: Just think of Tomb raider... the draw to that game was very obvious in its earliest days... omg play as a big boobed girl and stare at her ass the whole time! I mean just look at the box art for those games (though I do have to say her lips are hideous!). Yet somehow the franchise has grown to more respectable approaches to which audience it tries to cater.

There are plenty of naked statues out there in very classy places. It's a demon castle, so don't shy away from adult stuff. Miriam's castle is probably less inclined to have such things, because Gebel supposedly summoned it for her. My point here though is that Succubus wasn't the selling point to the market. There is a difference between artistic and/or appropriate nudity and one that serves as plain sex appeal. The series never had the latter. Vatican itself, which is supposed to be one of the most virtuous places on the planet, is adorned with many nude figures and non of them are seen as decadent. Not only did the style compliment the age the castle belonged to, but it also drew heavily from other time periods that were rich on pagan (in context) beliefs, such as ancient Greece (Medusa being the ever-present example of such influence). It should also be noted that nudity itself is a very important theme in Christianity, which was one of the biggest sources of inspiration alongside the Drac legend. In the Book of Genesis, Adam and Eve became aware of their nudity after they committed the first sin and as such an act of embracing your nudity could be interpreted as an act of embracing your sinfulness in this scenario. So, to summarize, there was nothing offensive or inappropriate in the nudity that was present. In any case I understand that these are for gambling establishments... etc. Not quite, they're supposed to be a way to bypass the gambling-ban that is in place. You play for a chance to win more of the balls from a pachinko machine in order to trade them in. However, you can't trade them in for money (as that would be illegal), rather you get prizes for them. So what happens is that once you get the prizes, you "sell" them to the clerk and get money. It's a very roundabout way that is punishable by law. The entire thing isn't actually there to legally evade giving your costumers money, but instead to allow the "casino" to be opened in the first place.

Nice shot at :31,though. It looks like Richter is leaping towards Dracula with a small metal stake in hand.

I suddenly regret not invading Castlevania earlier. I could've killed off both Richter & Dracula in one invasion. Plus that succubus...and Shaft. I can't believe that I, Galamoth, am saying this...but I actually miss fighting Alucard back in the day.

And now they've announced a Silent Hill one, too, lol. 2spooky.
Oh yeah, and to add to my previous post, that Konami D&D machine was trash. I won $0 and it had budget generic sound effects, lol.
