Turns out the IGA DLC only activates when you have the game online on PS4 however after you beat IGA and save, your save game file is now inaccessible unless you're connected to the internet.
Here's the message you get when the game does not let you load your save file.
Angel-Corlux & Question please look into this issue and try to get it fixed as soon as possible. Not sure if this impacts Xbox and Switch users but it's definitely an issue for PS4 users. |

Yeah, so...this is the kind of thing that will quickly have people wondering "what the hell?" absent a reasonable explanation. Hopefully, it's just some kind of silly error. Even then, there really is getting to be this sense of "fix something, break something else."

Well, that's certainly not intended, but we could probably sell the technology to Denuvo.

i was wondering if this is also going to be an issue on Xbox
i had planned on gifting this game and the DLC to my friend but if you are required to be online i'm not sure
Unfortunately we don't always have access to the internet but i was excited for the couch co op

Going to paste my reply from a recent thread for efficiency:
Hello everyone, status update on these topics:
- When you purchase the DLC it will be redeemed / unlocked in game, you don't need to actually download anything.
- The DLC was apparently uploaded at some point while or after the devs were fixing it, but before it actually became available for purchase. I don't like disc-locked content and it's never been a part of the plan for Bloodstained.
- The team is also looking into the "always online" aspect of the DLC that's been reported. So far we've confirmed it happens on PS4 and we're checking on XB1. I can guarantee that this was not intentional as we have no plans to make Bloodstained an always online game.
TLDR: We're working to solve the issues and you can rest easy we're neither making Bloodstained an always online game, nor are we going to start locking content on the disk.

I've noticed that Samurai Shodown has had similar problems to us with DLC not downloading or working properly, and I noticed myself on PSN that they changed how the interface works in a very confusing manner - after you purchase something or add it to your library, you don't really get any feedback from it and it still shows a "Download" button as if you haven't gotten it yet. Actually, this case for me was for the new Soulcalibur DLC that came out around the same time. Samurai's troubles were talked about in tweets.

I play mostly offline and I have several save files locked because of this issue.

no it's not i have latest update 1.04 in PS4 still can't access my save... i got all the 100% and the all the medal save file pls. fix this

Are you two sure? I just tried it out. First I disconnected my Playstation from the Internet through the menu, while I also plugged off the ethernet Cord. Started the game and loaded my 100% Savefile with IGA beaten. Works wonderfully, I can use the swordwhip, his Shard and still have his mission and Monster profile listed in my Archive. I then set the Playstation back to connecting to the Internet, but still having the PS4 unplugged (because on some other games I noticed that you cannot even boot them up if your playstation is set to connecting to the internet, but the connection is down. A way to fix that is to set the PS4 to not connect to the internet regardless, that usually solved the problem) but I still was able to both, boot the game AND load my 100% savefile. I then loaded my recent savefile. It is just at the beginning, setting into Arvantville and I looked if our dear vengeful Lady has the IGA Mission in her List. and she does, and I was able to accept it! So for me this issue is now fixed. Playing the german digital PS4 version with Patch 1.04 and the PS4 with all it's recent Firmware Updates as well. Someone else STILL having this issue with the exception of darksweet and XombieMike ? |

darksweet My Firmware actually is 7.02! If you give me some time, I can upload a video! However I have to edit out my real name first, since the menu on PS4 for some reason always shows my real name instead of my Username >_> EDIT: I uploaded a video of me trying to load my savefile while being completely offline! And for me it works. Game being Version 1.04 and PS4 having Firmware 7.02 installed. European PS4 and Game if that should matter.
