Hey, everyone.
Our previously announced balance update is coming soon to all platforms. We are sharing the Update Notes here so they are easy to find.
Please note that this is NOT the performance update for Switch.
I will edit this message to update the notes as needed.
Bug Fixes
Fixed instances where Bloodless would not heal while using Blood Steal offscreen.
Fixed shards that had memory leaks
Fixed the physics bug on hair while using some accessories
Fixed the crash after interacting with a bookcase
Fixed items getting stuck on walls
Fixed repeating SFX during Beal encounter
Fixed instances where sliding into water would cause the player to get stuck

Well, I guess less than 1% of the players care about the nerfs. The switch performance update is really what you should be working on!

They are working on the switch but this was already in progress and needed to be finished. Hopefully there are no more nerfs in the future because I probably won't download this even with the actually fixes. Maybe if we ask nice they'll reverse the nerfs.

Thankfully, the crybabies who demanded nerf, are "hardcore" players in their fantasies only. Normal mode is their one and only stop, "achievement" and "challenging" run. Lucky for us they tried no other shards, or they would yell for them to be dumbened down also... Imagine Void Ray or Chisel Barrage taking a hit, now, damn! Let them fools play with Throwing Knives, Arrows, Craftworks and noobish Red Shards. There is an advantage to it actually; them thinking only those skills are "OP"!
To each his own. Them getting stuck with a limited handful of tricks and using those all the time. Now, degraded too. Enjoy! But stay away from other toys, now that you got your way, kay? Noobs. Millenials. Nerfbrains.

Yeah, definitely skipping this patch. We’ll see what the future brings, but I’ve had very few glitches. It’s not worth eating the nerf at this stage.

I haven't tried it against all bosses, but the stand still shard seems to stop some projectiles. It's effective against the 8 bit lord for example, even though he can still move.

They get slowed down, not stunned and all of their ranged attacks stop dead in their tracks, until you release the button (which holds Standstill activated)! Only Dominique for me, appeared to not get slowed down at all. Bael, though, well his heads stopped rotating completely. Something is amiss with that shard's functionality, i believe. Indeed, bosses shouldn't get immobilized, much more the final boss...

I'd be more impressed with this transparency if it was consistent. We still aren't being given the specifics on a good number of these changes. Many notes remain vague, like "Changed crafting materials for Flame Cannon". Okay...to what? "Boss Adjustments" and a list of names tells me basically nothing. ...and if I'm honest in a lot of these cases, while I do care about the numbers, what I care about even more is the rationale behind these changes. Why do the dullahead type enemies need more HP? Why is Craftwork in need of a 5 point reduction in damage when it's already hard to deal damage with it? Why is Rhava Velar, a top-tier engame weapon, getting nerfed in damage...and why does Flying Edge need a nerf, but its upgraded form doesn't?
That said, I am happy that we're getting more specific information at all, and I'm especially glad to see that not all the changes are devoted to making the game harder.

Soooo nerfing the only shield in the entire game.....sure why not.
Anyway any news on when they will work on the horrible loading times on all consoles and not just the switch? Or at least an in game reload menu

The nerfs are pretty much spot on. While I agree it upsets some people ( nerfing a single player game), they aren't doing this just for the purpose of upsetting the players, but because they believe that by doing it, they are trying to balance a bit the game, so they can make people experiment other shards and strategies.
One example on this patch , by buffing techniques, they incentive the players using them instead of using shards all the time. I know that some players don't like techniques because the are either not cost effective to be good enough, or we can mess up the inputs , or even the proximity needed to the enemy.
However , I know it sucks to someone having one strategy as staple for the game being nerfed and making the player to adapt and change to new tactics . Or not having the big numbers that were there before. People don't like changes and they go with what is more comfortable to them.
That being said, I don't think the dev team needs to explain everything to the players regarding the motivations to change A or B .They want to change to "improve" the balance, so they will do it regardless of the opinion of the others. However, I also do agree that these changes may be just adding artificial difficulty , making the enemies taking 1-2 more hits to die at the end.
Also I know that the timing that was first announced was poor: people still suffering with crashes and problems at switch version, just wanting their ports to be fixed , so they send surveys for paid DLC , upsetting the people even more (I understand that was either to keep design artists employed for more time or to gauge future interest on getting paid content , but still the timing was poor). After that , an announcement with 90% nerfs / 5% improvements (map) / 5% buff ( familiar level scalling) without additional features the people were expecting for. The backlash is understandable.
At least in this latest update they improved a bit : they gave us numbers of nerf values, list of bugfixes (very welcome changes) , technique buffs ( to compensate shards nerfs). This is already something, but I suggest in the future giving more information regarding number and statistics. Also it would be nice surprise us, players with new things that were not there before ( such adding elements icons to shards , so we can know what is the shard damage type instead of trying it and sorting /filtering by these elements. we already have these icons at equipments, adding it to shards would be a nice and welcome change that would make us, players, very happy)

Thanks for the notes. I have to say I am strongly against these "nerfs", it is really not needed, especially for Rhavas. It is also sad to see Welcome company go down that much. I am not happy that Riga Storaema and Heretical Grinder are going down. I don`t want this update at all.
Please tell us more on performance updates for Switch, mostly how is work on input delay and loading times between screens.

Please stop. It upset a lot of people and they are doing this to upset the players. Forcing players to use other shards and strategy is a joke and achieve nothing. So I switch from shard A to Shard B, now Shard B is better than Shard A because Shard A is nerf. So what next? Nerf Shard A next? The dev don't have to explain. To players, the nerf looks brain dead, that's all. I would rather play fun but unbalance game than balance but mind-numbing game. The most worrying thing is the number behind the balance update. It means they are planning for more nerf. This is a sad day for the series. Iga was once the guy who set the standard. But now, seems like he has lost his charm and become a follower.

you are working on nerf or W/E, when people who backed for the game (i'hev backed mine 13 june 2015) more than 4 years ago are still not able to play it correctly ...

Ya, I platinumed my GOG version, don't feel like nerfing anything and I didn't experience any issues besides items getting stuck in walls which I would obtain anyway after leaving the area. In short, sticking with the current build. Now if they can change Nightmare to be a real harder mode and allowing you to keep leveling up in the process, then I would update (keep that current Nightmare style of gameplay as a challenge mode if you want).
