I do know that the game is already released , but it would be nice if we have some improvements on map and item sorting/filtering in future:
Map suggestions: 1 - Have a way to record/remember the last position the map was instead of opening full map every time and pressing button to focus + zooming in/out
2 - Increase Zooming-out more the minimap. It could be solved in-game by increasing minimap option, but increasing that minimap size into gameplay its intrusive to gameplay.
3 - Add Option to change color of the of the aim indicator/markers instead of having the same color of blue map ( like we do have for blood indicator). Or change to be different from blue, so is easier to spot.
Sorting/Filtering suggestions: 1 - Record Sort order of Shards and Equipment. It's annoying that everytime I sort by ATK for example or filter by weapon type, when I press start to go back my sorted list is replaced with default sort. The pointer variable for Demon records the last Demon that was being searched, so its definitively possible to record the previous sort/filter state. It could have a reset to default sort/filtering as well. 2 - Add Sorting by Mana usage of shards would be nice for shards
3 - Add Sorting/Filtering by Element Type for weapons and equipment ( and shards if possible, so its easier to identify their elements)
4 - Add sorting by other statistics at armor/head . We do have only sorting by DEF currently.
Other things: 1 - When we search for an item, we do have an option to see which monster drops that item. It would be nice to have a way to verify the monster profile while navigating the items (it could have a link for each monster that drops that monster, however I'm not sure how it should behave if we do have more than one monster that drops that item, but its not fought yet ( entry = ??))
purifyweirdshard: As an organization in Iga's games, they've generally been more on the fictional side than historical

dareka: It's a bit more complicated than that. The church comes off as fictional in pretty much all Japanese games because there's nothing like it over there, so they don't really understand what it is. Their closest reference is 20th Century Imperial Japan.

purifyweirdshard: Yeah, Iga told me as much in person (about how they don't really understand it etc). It's almost like an interesting mythological thing/hook for character designs and plots.

purifyweirdshard: I always appreciate seeing it portrayed well though, or at least with people on both sides of it (good religious people and bad religious people)

dareka: Methinks I'll be doing a thread on the topic soon...

Redogan: Just saw another trailer for CotM 2. Release date: 2020-July-10. Nice. I know what I'll be doing that day.

OwloftheNight98: dareka I wouldn't mind such a thread. I, in particular, want to see a religious protagonist- who doesn't lose faith due to disillusionment or "God was evil all along!"- in a fantastical game setting, to see how would they handle the crazy stuff like this.

OwloftheNight98: AS LONG, as they're written well of course, I refuse to acknowledge half-A'd writing.

RichterB: While far from perfect, the CV franchise has been pretty decent w/ its idea of embattled Christian holy warrior versus evil personified. It's different from a lot of games in that regard. I realized over the years that's been part of its appeal to me.

RichterB: Decided to spend a good chunk of time on that fan art I mentioned. Getting close to the coloring phase. As I was composing it, Gebel and Gremory decided to join Miriam and Goofball...and then a Valefar reference snuck itself in when I wasn't looking.

RichterB: Question: When I'm done with this thing, do I just post it in the fan art section of the forum, or is there someplace I'm supposed to put it to be considered for a future Kickstarter email? (assuming that is still a thing with dev updates.)
Jun 29, 2020 0:40:22 GMT -6
purifyweirdshard: You can post it in the fanart section here. To be considered for an update is something separate, post it to a social media outlet with the #igavania tag

purifyweirdshard: Also, yes, that was a significant part of the appeal to me for Castlevania as well. I've been hoping to see some of it in Bloodstained. That was what my hope in Dominique was all about.

RichterB: purifyweirdshard, Thanks for the info. And sorry about Dominique. But there's always Pure Miriam, I guess? I think maybe the Castlevania animated series sort of misses that thematic beat a little bit. I mean, Sypha's no longer related to the Church at all.
