If its a monthly update, i guess its suppose to be a big update every month.
The first dev preview is already a big one (miriam walking, slashing, jumping. monster respawning. the basics are done)

People are suffering from campaign withdrawal. The excitement of seeing the funding number rise is etched deep in their brains, they need to spend more money. Well, it's past midnight in Baker Island, so I guess they missed the boat. Well it seems they missed the goal they set but hopefully it will be coming soon. I'm not too worried either way, but an update is always nice. I figure the lack of an update means either a) they're -really- close to going live, and all their effort is concentrated on that, or b) they're a long way from being ready to go and they're kind of embarrassed to admit it, lol. It's OK if it's the latter, Fangamer, we still love you!  Just continue to do what you did so well during the campaign, keep us up to date on the latest developments. (Not that I'm going to lose sleep over it or anything. Lord knows, I got enough to keep me busy...) |

Hi guys—sorry about the lack of updates, we've been working really hard to get our new survey software live and that involved a lot of ducking our heads down and testing things. This week I'm going to be working with the Japan side to get their pieces of August's update ready, so we should have something for you soon.
As for the survey, I don't have a launch date yet, but I think you're all going to like it. We're trying to build something that feels a little more like the original campaign than most survey/slacker backer systems, so that people who missed the Kickstarter can still feel like they're contributing to development, instead of just preordering a game. (I'll try to have an updated survey timeline in our next update. I also noticed some people asking for updated funding totals, so I'll check in about that, too.)
Let me know if you have any questions—I'll be hanging around on here much more often now. (We just ran our first ever convention here in Tucson and I had to host our two-day charity stream, so things were a bit hectic...)

No need to rush with the survey, but a general idea on when it will come around would be nice.
I imagine a good number of people have put some money aside so they can upgrade their pledge, which in turn might cause frustration if the money is left unspent for a while.
I'd say that you should delay the survey for an entire year, tell the backers about it and that everyone would be content, but seeing how you are working within the slacker-backer schedule that doesn't seem like an option.
Well whatever the case, as long as you drop by here and there, so the backers feel informed and not forgotten, you won't be hearing much discontent.

Thanks! To be clear, once the survey launches it'll be an ongoing process—we tend to wait quite a while to collect mailing addresses, for instance, since they change so often. (When I back a Kickstarter personally I usually don't realize they have an outdated address on file until they announce they've started shipping rewards, and then I have to send a frenzied e-mail to get it changed at the last minute.)
But like you said, we want to launch the system soon so that people who are ready to upgrade or become slacker backers can get the process started. I can't narrow down a timeline on here just because I don't want to put our developer on the spot without him knowing about it, but having looked over his shoulder at it whenever he's too busy to notice (he sits one desk over from me) my inexpert opinion is that it's getting pretty close.

Thanks for posting, Dan. Everyone is excited about the game and craves for updates, even though we should realize the real development of the game has only just started. Interesting updates and the forum will keep us even more excited about the game, which is also a very positive feeling. More anticipation and more imagination will make the day of the release something really special, as special as Dracula`s resurrection which happens every 100 years |

Thanks Dan. I don't know if I'll upgrade but I'd love to be able to pick the platform I'll have the game for. I know I'll have an address change in my future since I'm planning to move hopefully at the end of this year. I'll keep Fangamer in the loop regarding my address via email.
