I've been looking over the "infamous" survey once again and started thinking about a few things an overwhelming majority was interested in expanded DLC content after release, with expansions to the story and additional characters being the number one requests.
My questions are if indeed there was more content after launch, say maybe in time for this holiday season....
What sort of story/stage expansions would you like to see, and what sort of extra characters would you like to play as and how would they be unique playthroughs?
Cosmetic and online play expansions, as well as mod support also had a lot of support so what would everyone like for those subjects as well?

If Alfred doesn't come as an initially packaged playable.. then an Alfred DLC dammit.
Otherwise, cosmetic packs would be fun. I'm hoping a DLC side-story with new enemies, weapons, bosses, shards, etc. would come down the pipe eventually. That would be neat.

I'd love it if they went into the background of various bosses, and mayhaps added more parts to the castle as so we could expore their history and maybe recover notes and books about how they became what they are, new enemies would be cool even if they were mostly palette swaps.
Getting to play as Anne or Dominique would be awesome, and perhaps they could have their own side story outside of the castle or even a reimagined old part of the castle, perhaps a part that has changed after Miriam went through it? As for other new characters, since Miriam is going to be something of a "jill of all trades" I think any new characters should be more focused in their specialties
Maybe an additional part of the castle where all the enemies are invisible until you find some relic halfway in the new part?

I could see you doing an Alfred only run in Curse of the Moon somehow. Mind you, frostcalibur is hands-down the best sub-weapon with his burning sphere move being a close second.

I think some kind of prequel to how Miriam got to who she is today would be nice. Perhaps she had a friend at the time that thought he or she was doing the right thing, but got Miriam into a bad situation thus she is where she is today.
Or maybe a backstory to Zangetsu's growth. If playing as Zangetsu is similar to playing as Alucard in Dawn of Sorrow, I wouldn't be interested as much. I'd like to see Zangetsu storyline where he levels up and can upgrade as extensively as Miriam.
I did not finish playing CotM, so apologies if it does cover this storyline.

It wont grow for crap if this first game isn't a success. First order of business if make sure they put out a quality game that also sells enough copies. All the speculation in the world is for nothing if RotN fails.
Come back a few months after the game has launched and we can talk about the future, hopefully.

AztecWell the work on the game is mostly done, and they need to get started planning on what to do before they actually do it, and us discussing what we think should happen doesn't hamper there work in anyway... also... that's kinda the point of the forums to discuss the game and what we'd like to happen with it Aztec. Making a game and keeping that game alive with updates doesn't work on a lets do one thing at at time sorta frame of mind, you need to be planning and working on things long before you know how things are gonna turn out. Regardless we can still talk about the future here and now, it's not gonna hurt ArtPlay or any of their plans, but if you prefer to wait however months before weighing in that's fine too.

Personally outside of cosmetic DLC and story DLC expansions for secondary characters such as Dominique, Alfred, Zengetsu, Mystery man, etc. I'd love it if they did a winter themed story expansion where Miriam and gang explore a new (albeit smaller) castle located near the original castle after hearing stories of villagers etc. disappearing in the area. The expansion would ideally require players to traverse through a snowy forest, a snowy village (ala the village at the beginning of CV: Dawn of Sorrow), across a frozen lake, and then explore this new (but smaller) castle where they try to solve the mystery behind the missing villagers.

I'm honestly not fond of expansions. To be fair, as opposed to the extra modes we're getting for which I care nothing about, I can appreciate the old school kind of expansions, so whole new areas and content, but I don't really like to go back to a game after months to experience a snippet of new content, especially in a metroidvania game where the content could be integrated in the main map, forcing me to replay or re-explore the map from scratch. I'd prefer a straight up sequel for the future.

Haven't played the game yet (or watched the spoilery streams for that matter) but I'd like to see additional stages for Co-op/Multiplayer and Classic Mode respectively on top what's currently planned.
Maybe include some new areas or retool existing assets by changing the time of day, seasons, weather conditions, lighting, etc for these additional stages. And as appropriate add additional modes of online play depending on what's originally offered.
Overall I can't wait to see what kind of multiplayer experience this game will offer and hope a lot of thought went into designing it. Also hoping that 505 invested in a proper netcode to make the experience worthwhile.
Beyond that I'd always welcome remixes of existing tracks be it as 8 bit version or otherwise.
