Hey peoples here is something, I love keeping an eye out on video game deals. so what about we put up VidGame deals here. Here are the rules:
1) it cannot be a local deal (in only one city)
2) It can be any country, but please tell which country.
3) you need to link the sale or deal, no hear say, show proof
4) if it is an ebay game it has to be "buy it now" don't waste our time with auctions
5) tell us the time the deal expires so people don't get excited over old posts
6) no false post, this is to help people get cheap games not to confuse them
7) be respectful, don't down anyone's post, a deal is a deal, even if it is 10% off

Neat idea for a thread! As a suggestion for PC players and sales, this link shows all the top deals for each day. You can also search by the game's title and even set up a Price ALERT, when a game goes on sale for the price you targeted or under, you'll get an email! Pretty nifty huh? ^_^ |

You will never have to step into a game store or line up ever again...

I put up games I think are good deals, and link directly to the game... so no I don't think cheapassgamer is easier. I have to go to that forum look for the "deals I like" or games I think is interesting... here, one click and your at the game. |

I think there's two easy solutions. One is post-side and the other is reader-side.
You could just edit the first post in this particular format:
"Deals until ____ date"
*deals*
"Next date"
*more deals*
The other method is simply for readers to keep up with the thread. If people are looking at varying times because the only have spare cash at those times, the it doesn't really work, but for those people who are just interested buying at any given time, then it works perfectly for them.
Everyone has different needs and desires, and maybe this will meet some of them, and maybe none of yours.

Just one thread? Ok, then I have to scroll through the thread every single time to see what is new, unless everyone comes back and deletes their post when the sale is over. Already ran into in issue on the Transistor link since it is for PSN only, it doesn't state that in the post. I just think this thread is gonna be terrible. edit: lol the first post sale is already over, yet the links are still there and just brings me to the bottom of the thread. If you are gonna have a thread like this it needs to maintained properly, someone should dedicate posting and editing the major bundles and sale sites. But I guess if you want a really inefficient way to wade through sales, go for it. I'll just stick to cheapassgamer (which I HIGHLY recommend to anyone that wants to watch sales, it has been around a LONG time and is extremely easy to use and they have their format down packed) and www.reddit.com/r/GameDeals/ My only suggestion to you is not allow anyone to post discussion replies in this thread, each person has one comment and they constantly re-edit their post. this thread WILL be a massive pile unless it is constantly maintained. look plain and simple if you don't like the thread don't use it. no "if's" "and's" or "but's" just don't |
