Modification to the HP/MP stats. Everyone starts with a base HP of 100. The rolled stat is just how much extra HP/MP your character has. As for leveling, here's how it will work. Every monster has an EXP value. The stronger the monster, the more EXP it gives when you kill it. When a character levels up, does each stat go up by one? Or is it like SOTN where each stat has a random chance to get a +0, +1, or +2 boost? My stats atm: Hasemu - Level: 1 HP: 136 MP: 127 STR: 5 CON: 4 SPD: 6 INT: 2 LCK: 4 Edit: Will weapon types have some quirks to them that makes them unique? If a Dagger user, and a Katana user were to fight, would their weapons work exactly the same, or no?

Now that the site has a dice rolling system, we're going to need stats to go with it for the RP. I have decided to use the traditional Castlevania stats, but with the added element of a Speed stat to determine turn order in combat and determining whether an attack hits or misses. Warcueid pls.

...Oh. It was in a different post. I was going by this post. Edit: Crap. I forgot to explain the stats! HP and MP are pretty self-explanatory. Strength is added to your attack roll as part of the formula to determine whetehr or not you hit a target. Constitution determines how much damage you are protected from when you get hit. Intelligence is like Strength, but for magic instead of physical attacks. Last but not least, Luck determines whether or not you score a critical hit. To score a critical, you must roll at least a 15 (counting your luck bonus) on a d20.

Looks like our Gebel is gonna be really tough... and all magical. I can deal with that. I just hope there's gonna be a way to gain EXP that doesn't involve killing monsters. I understand the desire to base things on Castlevania, but there should probably be a reward system for accomplishing non-combat goals, and maybe even a small bonus for good roleplaying, to incentivize quality posts. 1-100·1-100·1-6·1-6·1-6·1-6·1-6

Here's how I think the EXP system will work. Monsters will have various EXP values attached to them, but interacting with other characters will also grant EXP, as will exploring the castle.
Now, regarding HP. Don't worry about having to make a new character if your current one runs out of HP. If that happens, your character is simply knocked unconscious until the end of the encounter. Once the battle ends, your character regains consciousness with half of his or her maximum HP.
Next, I'll explain the magic system. Everyone can start off with a basic spell, like healing minor wounds or a basic magic attack, like shooting fireballs or generic magic projectiles. As you level up your character, he or she can learn enhanced versions of the spells he or she already knows, or learn a new spell.
One more thing. Regarding characters who have the magi-crystal curse. Should we have some way to indicate how the curse is progressing? Also, should characters who don't already have the curse be able to become afflicted with it during the RP? If we have characters that can curse others, they will have to get permission from the person playing the victim. Speaking of which, Chuckles, you have my permission for Gebel to curse Ryan if you want him to have that ability.

Perhaps as the magi-crystal curse grows stronger, you gain a passive increase in STR/INT? And maybe you get a permanent HP decrease or something.
As for gaining the curse, perhaps you can roll a die. If your number is too low, you die/fall unconscious.

Good news. I can look at security logs extremely easily and tell if someone edits or deletes a reply or thread. So dice cheating is catch-able.
I think it's pretty obvious that there is a legitimate demand for some forum RPG. Let's see what else I can do to expand on that. First, shall we go ahead and create a separate category outside Fan Fiction?
