I'm sorry, but messages like these can't simply be forgotten. 2018 has been the release window. It doesn't matter if a formal or informal one, at this point. THIS is what people read, and THIS is why IF the game is delayed to 2019 the delay MUST be recognized as such. And saying that it's people fault because they "interpreted it wrongly" is simply not true and mustn't happen, because it would be an act of great disrespect at this point. Dude I'm getting tired of liking all your posts lol but we are in the exact same page, not recognizing the delay as such is gonna be a worse offense than the delay itself. I really don't care about it, I want a finished product I will enjoy but critics and contrarians are gonna eat this project MN9 style if the team doesn't admit a delay was made.

Wow, that uh... yeah. That seals the deal pretty shut on that one No way around it, representatives were straight up telling fans the game will release in 2018. Repeatedly. Consider my argument 100% conceded. Also totally agree with your points in your post too. There is absolutely positively no way under any circumstances, "internal" or "external", in the face of these claims, that a 2019 release would not be a delay. I still don't agree that the March 2017 date was a delay, even by technicality. Not a single person on the team said the game would be releasing in 2017, this was just assumed from the "Estimated Delivery" date on the Kickstarter backer rewards page, which they had mentioned repeatedly even during the funding campaign was only a placeholder and meant nothing. Never once did anyone promise a March 2017 release, or even said they were aiming for one. Any time it was brought up, they were clear that it wasn't a release date at all, just a placeholder that Kickstarter's system requires.

Late to the party.
A release date, or anything said or written really, is kind of like a line in the sand. It means as much as all parties involved care for it to mean, and on its own means literally nothing.
That said, I'm scratching my head why the heck anyone would quote IGN as an authority on... well... anything.

In times like this you have two choices.
Grumble, rage and generally be frowny and sad.
or
Embrace it, realize they're doing it to make the game better and focus your attention elsewhere in the meantime.
p.s. only 2 weeks til Spider-Man, and 2 Months til Red Dead!

I'm relieved to be honest. After the backer demo it was clear the game needs more time. It's definitely on the right track but it's not ready for prime time just yet.

Im sory but ho many games got delyed for [olish or because "its not quite at our vision" yet when it finally doe come out it still gets panned or subpar reviews?
Final Fantasy XV Mighty No 9
and plenty of other i can name if youd like me to continue. Point is delaying a game doesnt mean its gonna be great. It just means its shit at this point and theyre working on making it at least playable.passable based on how other game that got oft delayed were reviewed when they FINALLY did come out

FFXV got rave reviews?
Asides, reviews don't mean much to me. Chasm has been mixed in its reception and I love it.
The issue, and we see it in the feedback, is expectation. It's easy to fire off invectives at creators, but trust me, not one of these folks is seeking to fail. When faced with high expectation, everyone wants to succeed and no expectations outstrip those of the creator.
Every director watching their movie can't shut the voice up in their head about how it could have been done differently. Merely committing to a vision takes a great effort of yanking it free from the possible into a thing that is.
Be a bit more forgiving of creative minds. I wish I got in when there was still backing. I'd back them right now in an instant

You're not wrong. However, I had an enjoyable time with final fantasy 15. Also this is a different company, which is a major factor in all this.

Agreed, but i'd also add that we have played the demo of this game, and gameplay wise it's hit all the marks for me. If they're taking the time to polish art and presentation then i'm more than confident we'll get the result we all anticipate.

Hello, 60$ Backer here. Honestly when they didn't released an estimate date at e3, i really felt that we may get a delay.
Not particulary rustled by these news. I haven't played the e3 backer demo mostly because i want that my first experience with bloodstained to be the complete and polished game. I did saw the the infamous screenshots though in another thread. and while teh lighting isn't bad.I concur that it could use more polish. It actually excites me to think what they may manage to do with a couple of months pollishing teh lighting of this game, (and having more time to give more areas a distinct "intent" on their lightings).
I Hope that playable demos, the constant developers updates and the release of bloodstained Curse of the moon (it was amazing BTW) help mitigate this Kickstarter stigma that this game is gonna fail. Could been handled slightly better, but i think it could been handled WAY worse too. And i don't think is fair to compare it with Mighty Number 9 :/
well, thats it! i wanted to say that i'm still looking forward for the full game, and if the delay means that we are gonna get better lights, im actually happy with it. Also, Smash Ultimate with Castlevania content will certainly keep me busy.
Still, since i don't own a Vita it doesn't directly affects me, but I can see why the vita cancelation is terrible news for some though. Unlike WiiU where the Switch is an 100% better upgrade and does everything the WiiU didn't manegd to do, The Vita doesn't have that alternative, so my sincere condolences for you guys. :c

Still a fan of IGA. We need to be sure that this happens in 2019, though. If, a year from now, people are still posting variants of "keep working on it until it is done because a bad game is forever," we could see this thing launch in the PS5 era. We don't need release "windows" or vague statements of years. We need a target, because it is time to play this thing. I had really wanted it for Halloween this year. Nebulous target dates are a dangerous thing.

Eh, I've got no problem with this. I invested for having a fun game worth $60 (meaning, not a typical Castlevania ~10-15 hour romp, but around ~25-30), so if a delay means a more polished, content filled game, then that's fine. They've shown enough at this point that it's not going to be vaporware or even worse, another Star Citizen. I mean, they could have done the cowardly thing and made this an eternal 'Early Access' game, in which case I would be unhappy. Nebulous target dates are a dangerous thing. No, games stuck in Early Access/beta forever are a dangerous thing. The devs grow lazy at releasing a finished product since they're already getting paid, and constant player feedback dilutes the dev's vision/choices for the game. Not saying that player feedback is always invalid, but I generally prefer to trust the devs to come up with their own ideas and solutions—exceptions abound, of course.

I'd rather have a mostly finished early access build than a short 30 minute demo. Having just a demo at this point is very worrying. They couldn't even show progress at all literally nothing from the time they released the demo til now. Communication fucking sucks, we've seen nothing since the demo, the demo was short, and they're cutting promises and delaying the game. Nothing but bad at this point. Any hope for anything good is gone.

Don't pick on the Vita folks, Valtiel . They've really been given a bad hand and it's in poor taste to pour salt on the wound, especially when a lot of folks are stressed out over the delay as well. Let's be respectful of each other, this is a stage in the project where it's really important all us fans stick together. That said, ZeroSbr , even if you don't want it on a Switch, there's also the PC version--yeah, it's not portable, but almost everybody has a PC for work and stuff these days, so you may get a chance to play the game in some form. And even though a delay doesn't augur well, 505 and IGA are being a lot more transparent about it than...well, some other folks we may remember, if you know what I mean. I understand feeling dismayed and discouraged, and I won't ask you or anyone else to have faith in IGA, but let's see if they release footage of updated graphics or anything like that in the future. It may well turn out that this delay will be just what the team needs to make Bloodstained not just good or even better, but truly great.

Look, you have an entire thread about the dropped Vita version, and I'm not touching it because I get the disappointment in having something you wanted and were looking forward to ripped away from you. But at the same time, could we maybe extend similar courtesies and not crap all over the people who are still enthusiastic about the project?
