Sometimes I wish I could draw, but my talents lay in writing, not drawing, I'm afraid. (I actually feel inclined to write a Bloodstained fanfiction, but... I'll wait until the game is released and I understand the full story, rather then write a story now and end up possibly making some laughable assumptions about what's going to happen in the plot.) Today is going to be uneventful for me, but tomorrow I'll be spending most of the day doing yard work at my sister's place. If you want to draw, just draw. Everyone can... while for a naturally talented person it will be easier, if you work hard you can absolutely draw something that you'll be happy with. Doesn't matter if it doesn't look good at first, if you truly want to draw and get better at it, perseverance is everything. I only started in May last year, just ten months ago, and while I'm still well below average as an artist, I feel that I improved tremendously with every drawing I did and there's still lots of room for growth. What I'm gonna say right now is kinda cheesy, but if you look at something you did and feel happy and proud about it, then that's good enough in my opinion. And if someone else likes it too, it makes you feel even better. Last year I did this drawing as a birthday card for a friend, and her delighted reaction was one of the most satisfying things I felt in a while. That reminds me... another friend's birthday is coming up this Monday! He's a huge Kantai Collection fan, so I'll see if I can throw something cute with his original character and his waifu Harusame.

EDIT!!!
The image above is for XombieMike. That is what my post looked like regarding the error I mentioned.... I kinda looks like... the quadratic formula exploded or something.... EDIT!!!I also started looking at parts/guides for the gaming PC I want to build. My entertainment budget is at the point where I can safely say to myself "yeah, I can set aside this much for a PC and have this much left over for other small fun things." I got my tax refund. I have been told that getting a refund is supposed to be a bad thing because it really means the United States federal government took too much money from me. Instead of going into Ron Swanson mode and hating anything to do with the government, I decided the better lesson to take away from Parks and Rec was to "treat yo self!". So I went to the comic shop where I got the coupon from a few weeks ago and used some of the refund to buy the most expensive item from my list of comics/graphic novels I want to own. Thank you, local comic shop and federal government. Because of you, I now own a hardcover ALIAS omnibus. Funny you mention that. I actually claim 0 on my taxes every year specifically because it will mean I get a refund. I always used to use it as a way to get caught up on big things or a way to get myself a nice present. This year I finally decided to take the plunge and get a 4k monitor. I must say I am really happy with it. Speaking of PC builds, if you're interested I just posted an updated list of my build with prices over here: bloodstainedfanforums.com/post/26371/threadSometimes I wish I could draw, but my talents lay in writing, not drawing, I'm afraid. (I actually feel inclined to write a Bloodstained fanfiction, but... That reminds me... another friend's birthday is coming up this Monday! He's a huge Kantai Collection fan, so I'll see if I can throw something cute with his original character and his waifu Harusame. I too am one of those people who have often pined after the artistic skill of another, particularly when it comes to drawing. For me, if it isn't a technical drawing with orthogonal lines I can't do it. At least not and have it be anything close to something that I'd be happy with let alone show anyone. But then again, that's not my primary skill set. I'm an engineer and really good with electricity, so that's what I try to stick with. I have my moments where I dabble in art like signing and music, and occasionally graphics like my avatar and every now and then I actually come up with something that I think looks pretty good. But more often then not I run into some problem that I do not have the skill to tackle and do not have the time to learn. But such is my hectic schedule. As evidenced by the fact that I'm pretty sure my last post here was over a month ago... or so... But I do agree that there are many skills, like drawing, that people can acquire if they can put in the time. The question, as with so many other things, is always a matter what skill level are you reaching for and given the level of your natural ability and aptitude how long will it take to get there. And even more important is recognizing if some aspect of your natural aptitude may get in your way and making a reasonable judgement as to whether it is something you can over come or not. In my case I've deemed it to be out of my reach for the time being. But I have other endeavors that I am involved with and for those who do try to reach for those goals, like the ability to draw art, and put the time in I applaud your efforts regardless of how far you actually get.

I got to experience something really cool. The world premiere of AMC's Preacher. I loved it. Yes, fanboy hype may have shaped my experience since I've read the comics and a bunch of people who worked on the show were there. But nothing can take away the good feelings I had.

Well, I've had a crazy past few days. Thursday -Went to the SXSW Gaming Expo, played a few VR demos, got motion sickness, played a bunch of indie games, and made some new friends. -Saw a screening of the new Pee-Wee Herman movie with some other friends a few hours before it came out on Netflix. I loved it. Friday -Saw the Rooster Teeth and Telltale Games Batman panels at SXSW. I don't follow Rooster Teeth much anymore, but I always liked the original/main crew behind it (Burnie, Geoff, Gus, Matt, Joel, Jack) and Gus, Geoff, and Jack were there. There wasn't much at the Batman panel besides Telltale laying out their plans for the game, a picture of the 600-700 page(!) script for Episode 1, and saying their engine has been upgraded, but it was still cool to hear them talk about it in-person and listen to the Q&A. Everyone on the panel hung out with all their fans afterwards. I got to tell them about how much I liked their games and discussed what we liked about Batman in general. -Visited with my parents, started watching season 2 of Daredevil with my dad, and now he has a new appreciation for The Punisher. Saturday -Saw the Game Grumps panel at SXSW. I don't keep up with them as much as I used to, but I went because I thought it'd be fun. I was one of the last people into the room before it filled capacity. I got to ask a question, got a free t-shirt from Ninja Brian, but later gave it away to a fan I encountered later that day who was half my age and mentioned how he wanted to see the panel, but couldn't. -Saw the Sonic 25th anniversary panel at SXSW. I was on the fence about it since I view Sonic as a fun thing from my younger years that I check up on from time to time and the fandom makes me feel uncomfortable, but it ended up being a lot of fun, most of the people there were pretty cool and well-behaved, and I got to meet Yuji Naka. There's a more detailed write-up here. -Went to the SXSW Gaming Awards. I liked it last year because Janet Varney and Markiplier were hosting and there was an open bar. I did not like it this year because I thought it was aimed at an audience that was younger than me, the audience displayed horrible etiquette, and there was no open bar to help me drink away the pain. I stayed until Starbomb performed, thought they were allright, and left. Monday -Saw an advance screening of Batman vs Superman. I liked it and had a fun time, but I didn't think it was the amazing movie people are hyping it to be.

I'm having a pretty rough day, myself. Been feeling pretty lonely lately and realized there's a community right here of potential new friends to be had, so why not be more active, right? :3

Easter weekend was really busy for me. I'm in my church's choir, so I went to mass on Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Vigil, and two masses on Easter Sunday. I've been feeling lethargic since I woke up today, so I guess I was more worn out than I thought.

Had a bout of insomnia. (I seem to have a sleepless night at least once a month.) Which does not bode well for the rest of my day.
Might have to call off all of my plans around town for the day. I'll just sit in my house and try to stay awake for as long as I can before I go to bed, and hope my schedule isn't hurt too much by this.

I had a bout of insomnia myself, for two days straight, ending just two days ago. Coincidence?

I hope everything went well in terms of your sleep schedule and you didn't miss out on any big plans that happened. The big thing I did today was start a free software training course for adults at the library. I didn't know what to expect, but the class ended up being a good learning environment for me; people can come and go as they want, there's only a few students, it's quiet, there's a teacher volunteering their time to help out, and everyone actually wants to be there and is focused on learning. A big part of the course involves just following online tutorials, but I think the class would be much more beneficial for me than just plowing through a bunch of them all by myself.

Can be the worst day for me The lock on my door stuck on me, with all of my keys inside have no idea what to do, thinking of climbing through the bathroom window in order to get into my room, but with how I'm living in an apartment on the 7th floor, immediately imagine of falling down ( I already climbing to the windows, then I looked down ) So, going through youtube on how to pick a lock, managed to pick the lock with a needle and a hairpin took me over 4 hours to open it

Sorry to hear that man. Getting locked out of a place with my keys inside or busting a key off in a lock has got to be one of my biggest fears. My day was kind of weird.... Spent most of the day doing software testing... Most of it not going well. Then I had an unexpected guest to take care of... Was standing in the main doorway of the lab on the shop floor (really more four walls anchored to the floor than an actual lab. No seriously it's just a section of the shop floor they walled off and called a lab. There's not even a ceiling...) trying to figure out who was using a PA in one of the adjacent section of the plant when a mouse ran out (I say ran but it was moving at a semi leasurely pace) from underneith a large machine that's next to the lab, across the floor not 6 feet from me, and meandered into the pit for our tilt table. (Large steel table with a pair of motorized screw jacks on one end for doing tests that involve tilting a fork truck to check for tip over or component failure) Now the pit is only about two and a half feet deep, so I'm thinking "Great. The mouse will hop out the other side and get lost in the plant even further. Now to make this clear, the plant is about the size of 5 football fields. (think 3 long by 2 wide with a missing corner), I'm at one end, and all of the large doors and docks are at the other end of the building. I walk over to see the mouse run to the edge of the pit and then run back.... That's when I notice that this mouse looks rather large... More fat really.... Actually more pregnant.... Ok. That means I'm kinda obligated to do something to help... (Sorry, I'm a sucker for small cute animals. Mice, rats, rabbits, hamsters, squirrels, etc.) So I go get an empty plastic part bin. Go around the guard shields and reach down with the tub hoping to coax the mouse in. No luck. From the way it is acting it is obviously tired and dehydrated (that plant is extraordinarily dry inside). Made all the more obvious that (on the fourth try) when I finally tried to get near it with the bin turned sideways to coax it in, it let me get within half and inch of it with my hand to shoo it into the bin before it ran in. Then after SLOWLY picking up the bin and righting it I proceeded to walk it out of the plant (a good 100 yards to the nearest exit) and deposit it near a stand of trees next to the retaining pond out front. I was definitely surprised at how docile it was for a wild field mouse... Especially since the bin was only four inches tall and the mouse never tried once to jump out to run away, but circled the bin once and then went to one side and stayed there. But, I did my good dead for the day.

I've had a crazy few days. Tuesday night/Wednesday morning: got sick. My throat felt like it was on fire. Ended up drinking sprite at 3am in order to feel better since I was out of the medicine I needed. Sprite usually makes me feel better when I'm sick. Wednesday: Felt much better when I woke up. Took more steps to recover. By the time the evening rolled around I went shopping for life-related stuff. I also visited my parents so my dad and I could fanboy over the Star Wars: Rebels season 2 finale together while my mom watched the two of us react and said stuff like "Whatever. I don't know what a Malachor is or why you are getting excited over a mall there". Oh, there was a mall worth getting excited over. A Darth Maul! Thursday: I woke up feeling even worse than I did Wednesday. I could barely function and spent most of my day asleep. I feel better now, but I'm still dumbfounded about how I ended up feeling worse after feeling better and taking steps to recover.

Yesterday, I finally went to Burger King because I was tempted to try the new "Dr. Pepper Milkshake". I've got this to say: Even if you're not a milkshake fan, float fan, or even a Dr. Pepper fan, you might like this. (Yeah, I think Burger King actually succeeded this time) For me, Dr. Pepper is my favorite soda. Of course I'd like it.

I like the idea of Goofball exploring his sexuality, and he could sexualize me any day of the week. I'm starting a petition to counter your petition, and mine will win because IGA loves me more than you... ...but he doesn't love me as much as he loves Goofball. ):
