cplus: Sure, I guess I just need to look up on the rules, I don't know the declared price is supposed to be the price one paid, the manufacturing costs, the cost covered in case of insurance or something like that. As others have said part of the backing amount also simply goes to the development of the game, not being part of what we receive, so that's why I'm thinking maybe it wasn't exactly the full amount.

The thought never crossed my mind. I think I'll refrain from upgrading my pledge to the signed box tier, as it would be difficult enough to invest the extra money to make the upgrade itself, it would suck to pay even more in taxes.

I just upgraded to signed box anyway, but it's gonna be SO expensive in customs, so it's kind of an unsound decision economically given that I have no income currently.
In Denmark in the past packages would only rarely be picked for customs inspection, so it wasn't too bad, but today I think practically every single package that crosses the border is taken out for customs inspection, so it's a pretty much guaranteed expense.
I wonder if it's produced in the US, or we then pay taxes twice, both for importing it to the US and then to whatever other countries we live in?

Yeah... that’s one way to view it, Enkeria . Just know that the toll is 4,7% on the declared value of the goods for packages arriving from the US, and the VAT is 25% of the total value with S&H +an eventual insurance included... plus the administration fee by postnord. So the cost in total might be closer to $200 USD, depending on exchange rates at the time of arrival. |

This is a very good topic. When the 300 USD backed editions are sent, hopefully the value mentioned on the package will be less, i.e. an estimation of the price of a game, audio CD and shirt.
