I too object to calling walking simulatora adventure. I mean too many people already call modern adventure games rpgs now. Gah.
In any case Ill cry if its a walking simulator or fighting game. Beatemups are fine, i love beatemups, but not musou style. Ick ick!
I suspect its some type of adventure game though given the direction castlevania took when IGA dtarted getting involved.

I would love to see IGA follow his own footsteps towards what he did with the 3D Castlevanias he made. Basically a 3D Bloodstained like his 3D Castlevanias, but with better detail and better level design. I'm sure he can pull it off without konami breathing down his neck this time.

What about a pachinko game? hahaha... but really, I would like to see Iga-sama do another action adventure game. or even an RPG. can you imagine the innovation he can come up with if he does an RPG? or even a beat-'em-up game... what if he had free rein to do what he wanted.... he might be able to come up with a new classic  I would love to see anything that Iga-sama comes up with  |

If I recall, Iga had at least two interviews where he was asked about Metroid and at least one where Iga himself mentions a DevilMayCry-style action game. I'd practically wager on anything similar to them happening next. But if I can suggest something specific and hopefully unique: First Person Dungeon Crawler RPG set in the labyrinthine halls and secret underground passageways of the castle: Miriam can customize her 4-member party team a la Final Fantasy I (with her taking the first spot) by recruiting any of her familiars! Miriam + 3 goofballs you ask? Yes you can! Goofballs have really high luck at the beginning, but stats start soaring once they hit level 80 (kinda sorta like Onion Knights in FF3)   So here's how the current familiars fit in (using temporary names as placeholders): Humor Goofball: Very high luck / Jack of all trades / Late bloomer
Cute Fairy: Magician / Healer / Long range attack
Cool Armor: Heavy hitter / High HP / Low Agility
Scary Reaper: Ailment caster / Medium attack power / High magic defenseOf course, more familiars will be good too!  |

Hold on. What about puzzle games? Like the ones Capcom did back in Street Fighter Alpha era. With all the puzzle games on smartphones nowadays, this could be another mini-game to help promote the franchise. A castlevania puzzle fighter you say...? Look up Castlevania Encore of the Night. |

Now that I take a look back at this thread, there is one more kind of game I'd be excited to see as part of Bloodstained.
A Bloodstained turn-based JRPG in the style of Wild ARMs 4 & 5 (the "hexagon grid" combat system; which I personally enjoyed back then), but with exploration elements ala Lament of Innocence & Curse of Darkness also added. Of course, Artplay may need the collaborative effort of Media.Vision/XSeed for this kind of game.
If you ask me, if IGA & co. ever decide on making a straight-up traditional JRPG to fit in Bloodstained's world, I think the format of the later Wild ARMs game would fit nicely.
