The Role of the Mysterious Man

Hmm...I don't think the Mysterious Man will be a very Alucard-like character, for a couple of reasons.

1: The obvious legal stuff. IGA doesn't wanna get into trouble with Konami, after all XD

2: IGA's personal preferences. Yeah, this is an IGAvania, but the leader of the Army of the Night wants to really strike out on his own and create his own setting. So aside from Gebel being "dracula-ish," I don't think we'll see many direct analogues to Castlevania characters.

3: He gives me the sense of being kind of a traveler...check out his footwear. He's not wearing fancy leggings or boots like Alucard did, at least judging by the silhouette. It seems that the "tongue" (I think that's the word?) of the footwear looks more like shoes than anything else, which tells me he might not be aristocratic but rather a wanderer.

So, given all this, I bet he's probably an antagonist, or at least starts off as an antagonist before Miriam wins him over. I bet he might be a traveling alchemist or sorceror who's in the castle in order to steal Gebel's secrets and use them for his own ends. Miriam, naturally, can't let that stand But that's just me...;D

1. NPC shopkeeper & craftsman
2. Funny mustasch and beard. Outcast. Confused and greedy. Colorful clothes, like a fiddler.
3. Learning you things, perhaps even craft stuff for you, if you have the gold for it.

At first glance, I couldn't tell if Ryotaro Okiayu was a man or a woman ... which kinda threw me who the 'Mysterious Man' might be

So here are my 3 answers...

1: Possibly the fusion of NPC and a boss. I imagine him as being some kind of debonair, maverick bounty hunter with a sly edge.

2: I'm getting the impression, judged by that silhouette, that he could be a cross between Doctor Strange and Liberace.

3: Maybe to kill Gebel first but may kill anyone who prevents him from achieving his goal ... even if it means Miriam too (hence why I think he could be a boss).

1) There aren't enough playable characters I feel. Having this one taking precedence over one of the potential candidates of the existing cast would be surprising and annoying (speculating over Zangetsu, Dominique and Johannes, maybe Gebel even is already stressful).
2) Suave, middle-aged, probably treacherous-looking or an anti-hero.
3) One with shifty allegiances, hard to poinpoint, maybe one that will help Miriam and co. after a big revelation.

And yes, like others said, some Alucard-like character would be fun to have, but countless ones would cry if he's not playable.
It's hard to please everyone. XD

Because Ihsaragi Ijok would be too hard to pronounce.

id go more with someone who takes nothing seriously, acts and dresses a fool, and is a bit of a perv, but knows way more than he lets on and has his own reasons for wanting something and assisting miriam is the easiest way to pull it off, not necessarily evil but not doing this for any altruistic reason, and when the facade cracks and he actually gets serious about something its kinda scary

Could it be???

2. Male, but I'm thinking demonic.

3. Perhaps some with a vested interest in Miriam's curse in particular, instead of Alechmy as a whole.
