Start game. Timer is counting down. - Kill all enemies or boss in the room to gain more time. Enter the next area. Skip monsters if you want, but the time is ticking!
- Will continue to generate different rooms until you let the time go.
- Complete time gained during your journey will be your score.
- Minor enemies add minor time. Bosses add a huge chuck of time.
- Infinity Mode will also lock your characters menu. There is no way to pause, no way to change gear.
- Gears, shards, health on monsters and items will be pre-determined and locked.
- Rooms will not be pre-determined, luck with the random generated feature is key.
- Hardcore: No health will be restored after bosses, no potions will be found.

That's a very good idea, it sounds a bit like the Mercenaries mode of Resident Evil Games.

My main concern is gear lock. I understand the point of it for the most part but I like the idea of being able to change at least weapon types. Tests your mastery of the game's mechanics in regards to speed and range and what works better for each enemy.
I think it'd be interesting if it limited what gear you could switch between, but not necessarily completely limit your ability to switch gear.

Like a reward doing good... everything is possible!

I love this idea. It's like Boss Rush mixed with the Roguelike mode with some time trial/survival elements mixed in.
This game is supposed to have a gear switch feature like DoS and OoE, right? If so, it could maybe let you set two or three setups in the first room, then in later rooms you could switch between these setups on the fly but not reorganize them in a pause menu. Extra idea with this bit: maybe every "x" number of rooms (say every 20 rooms or so), there be a "setup" room that lets you change equipment if you need. Something like finding one of the "books" in Harmony of Despair. But also like in HD though you'll have to watch out cuz the timer will keep counting down while you're in the book/setup. Then in the "Hardcore" mode these rooms are removed and you're stuck with just the gear setups you make in the first room.

yeah, have in every 10th room, giving you a choice of one out of three loot crates, this having a piece of random equipment. And only in this room could you switch, hoping you get lucky in the next upcoming rooms, or like you said.. Make 2 - 3 setup that you can change on-the-fly while you battle stuff out. perhaps also have every 9th room a boss for sure then.. And when done, show what gear you used most of the time in this playthrough, scorepoints and a screenshot button (in case if you forget to take a screenprint on PC).
