Hear me out before you go on a rant with your mace and whips..
I am not suggesting we need or want a DLC for Bloodstained, I just want to talk about what you feel it could bring to the table if Bloodstained need more features post launch.
[Image above from E3 2017 Demo - which have a blocked passage. It may be unlocked in the launched version of the game, or perhaps not. If not - would it be cool to add it post launch somehow?]
When I played Diablo III, I found a lot of areas that needed new pathways to new adventures once the expansion came out. I was wrong, but only to some degree. One areas was developed what I saw in the vanilla version: In Leoric's Mansion (Skeletonking in Diablo III) there were two stairways leading up to two different routes, each with different areas. There were only one up until the expansion came along.
I were always intrigued by how developers would tease about things in the background, places that were blocked and "seemed" like we could go around but never could. Frustration about "I know I just ran off into a cave, but I know there is a forest above the cave that I will never ever see!" Teased with roots in the caves and even people speaking about the horrors that were above ground which led them to the safeplace of the deep caves. This is just an example.
So, watching E3 playthroughs of Bloodstained I know there are lots of walls that we feel that we could break with our feet or weapons, which can not be broken. There might be unbreakable passages throughout the game that we will only see once we have played the game. So I wonder..
If Bloodstained were to be released as a fully featured game, giving us the information that they will patch it to fix some serious speedrunner bugs and glitches, would you enjoy the fact that they would let us get more out of the game in terms of new passage and areas?
May it be free, or cost a small fee to unlock something that "aren't needed" for the character or story to feel whole?
While I know maybe 99% of us would love for a complete game, with only patches that fix issues and no DLC "extra" nonsense, just think about it like this:
We have a finished game. There might be no mentioning of a Bloodstained 2, or perhaps there will.. Anyways, if it were years in front of us. Wouldn't you enjoy some new areas in Bloodstained (to some degree!)? If the answer is yes, because I would love for new stuff each month actually, the thing that cross our minds are: Would it be free? If not, would I want to pay? Would it be official areas? And how often would we get the new areas?
And if we were to pay, would it feel like we were being fooled, since the game WASN'T complete? Or would it be a way for us to HELP Iga make a second game with support of money and interest?
Like I said. I want a complete game, but I feel we need to talk. If not for us, then for the developers. Knowing what WE want or how WE feel might help them in the future if this FEATURE ever cross their minds.
Sorry for spelling. Thanks for the read. And yeah, new avatar! Will change back soon, just made it and wanted to share. lol.
Edit: Some of you guys talked about this in the shoutbox yesterday / today. DLC, patching, staggared content.
