Kitti_W I know this phenomenon just too well. Sometimes when I compose for a while I can just become "deaf" to my own music and its shortcomings. It's definitely a good idea to show it to others occasionally so they can hear it for the first time and tell you whether the piece works on an intuitive level. Even coming back to your own composition after a couple days of hiatus can work wonders and might make you hear things you simply couldn't perceive while initially working on it. Either way, I'm looking forward to hearing some kickass basslines from you!

Finished!! It took me around 10 months? since I started. I'm in tears. Finally first step towards my dream as a 36 years old. Fuck it I should start way sooner. Now I really feels life is so short. (1 song per year means 30 more song and I die? LOL) Need to study more music composition at a much faster pace from now on. So glad I can finish this before Bloodstained come out! XD I'd like to thank Yän for great advices. And as always, can't thank IGA and Yamane san enough for the inspiration.

Kitti_W Man it's awesome to hear the finished work after all this time. Definitely paid off! I noticed how you used the bass-rhythm of Dawn of Sorrow's Clock Tower theme. This changes the pace of the song. I think it sounds good and very Castlevania-like indeed! You fixed the ending too! Sounds way more like a finale now. Nice! Is there a version of the song online without the game sounds? I'd like to listen to it as it is (though from a game-composer's perspective it makes sense to play your music together with the game-sounds). Also, you'll be faster with making new songs in the future, I'm sure of it. Oh and don't you plan to die at 66, that's too young haha Hope to hear more from you in the future

Yän Thanks! This bassline is also in Dawn of Sorrow's Clock Tower theme? I actually learned this from no other song than the Luxurious Overture. Yes, the supposedly castle entrance theme for Bloodstained. Some skilled guy on the net made a .midi file of that song so I open it with FL Studio to see notes. I've attached the .midi in case you're interested luxurious overture.mid (26.38 KB) Looking at the .midi, I can't help but wondering how on earth a human being can re-create the song just like that? I mean there're many instruments in the background that are... there. But if you took those out of the song, many listeners would never spot the difference. Anyway, I put bass on solo, simplify it, and use it in my song. About the song without game sound effects, I just uploaded it to soundcloud here: soundcloud.com/kitti-wateesatogkij/my-original-miriam-theme-proragonist-of-bloodstained-ritual-of-the-nightAnd now that I just visited my soundcloud page again, let me introduce my first real song : the (snowy) Town Theme: soundcloud.com/kitti-wateesatogkij/town-theme-for-gamemusic-course-by-benkittiWell I'd consider Miriam theme to be my first proper song because the town theme is just 30 seconds with 2 instruments. It's the first homework of Karleen's game music composition course. The character theme(which I chose Miriam!) is the 2nd homework.

Kitti_W Ah I see! Thanks for the midi file. Those guys doing these transcriptions have a really good ear and are insanely patient haha. Glad they exist as these midis are the foundation for my Castlevania arrangements. That's why I was reminded of the DoS Clock Tower since I arranged that one too. Thanks for the links. Followed you on Soundcloud The other song is nice too. Cute little composition.
