Most Igavania games had a lot of areas in common. Places that became a classic staple. Even so, some games had "that area", a place that is kinda unique, interesting and fun to play, with a groundbreaking music and such. What i want to know from all of you is: What Castlevania Areas you would like to see a version in Bloodstained? Of course, the area doesn't need to be equal. What i want to know is if you would like to see something similar / inspired by a certain place in a certain Castlevania, in Bloodstained. I'm going to start with three areas from three different games. You can suggest how many you want from the same game or different games: CATACOMBS (Symphony of the Night)
I could choose a ton of areas from Symphony, since that game have a lot of interesting places. But i really like the catacombs. I think it is the area that gives a really claustrophobic feeling. Closed spaces, low celling, broken ground, without paths in the background, just a wall with adornments. It's music also helps to create this feeling. FLOATING GARDEN (ARIA OF SORROW)
I think Gebel's castle would be awesome with a location like this. A bunch of rooms floating in the sky, like flying islands where you can see the moon / sun in the background, clouds moving fast, with teleports or something connectiong one at the other. TRISTIS PASS (ORDER OF ECCLESIA)
I know this would be hard, considering most of the game will be inside a Castle, but i really would love to see something like Tristis Pass. Mountains connected by broken bridges with flying-type demons all around, where you can see more moutains and clounds in the background, inviting you to explore more. Maybe a part of the Castle could wrap around some mountains? That's all folks

Probably a discussion about the most probable/most loved part of previous Igavanias that are likely to appear in Bloodstained. While again I would want Bloodstained to be far from the past CV games in both representation and plot, I have to agree that some past castle elements were really interesting. I liked the inner quarters of Aria of Sorrow very much. Spacious, richly decorated hallways populated by martial artists of maids and female warriors of various origins. Each time I hear that theme, I think of Persephone greeting you and being ready to kick Soma's ass in style! It would fit Bloodstained really well too. I'm a sucker for corridors littered with art (paintings, mirrors, statues and the like). When it comes to an underground area, nothing beats the Underground Caverns of CSOTN. One of my favorite tracks of the game plays there (the others being Waltz of Pearls and Lost Painting). A watery area like the Somus Reefs. Not impossible, since there is a sea-themed element present in the demo. Being able to dive there would be great (with swimming animation) The Tristis Pass could be a passageway between the village and the castle, though I prefer the Misty Forest Road. When it comes to a library, I loved the one of Order of Ecclesia... though it's a bit messy-looking.

As for zones with slightly claustrophobic parts, I can't recall CV having an attic or a wine cellar (special guests, you know). That said, I'm sure that would be nice.

crocodile i never saw those threads i think, or i don't remember them. Maybe i posted in them and forgot. Shame on me We actually went through the same thing before with me replying the same thing croc did lol. bloodstainedfanforums.com/thread/2150/suggestions-castle-areasPure Miriam just didn't reply to it again/maybe didn't see my reply to this one either. He just really likes making new topics, and he's good at it, but well...yeah, it's the one thing we've talked about the most. That poll project was huge and a lot of work. Well...yep, I'd say it's the most talked about thing we've had in the forum. Here's the final poll for it (the only topic we had fully officially compiled and submitted as a poll): bloodstainedfanforums.com/thread/926/design-review-poll-castle-miriamsThat said, you can still suggest new area ideas. We've just already sent our ideas to Mana from before after the gather ideas > compile bullets > vote process happened. And well, keep in mind that the actual areas for the game are likely already locked in at this point.

To purifyweirdshard : Actually I'd be relieved if devs are fully working on castle zones and rooms and all that they contain right now. There is a TON to work on... All of these designs, these sound effects, these shards, drops, fighting tactics, interactive elements... This is what makes me slightly trippy out of anticipation.

Still want to see a really good Maze Garden area. I want a real maze that you can get lost in. I'm always on the look out for games that do the whole maze thing correctly. It's harder to do in 2D, I guess. In 3D, you would just see the current path and then take left/right, then repeat. Hit a dead end, backtrack, forget which way you came from, etc.

I personally would like to see a forest area. Most Castlevania games, classic, 3D or metroidvania, had some form of forest area, sometimes next to the castle. And it fits with the whole atmosphere too, a medieval old castle being located near some forest is just natural. Most of the times it is, either that or over a mountain or hill of some type.
I always loved the forest areas.

All of these designs, these sound effects, these shards, drops, fighting tactics, interactive elements... This is what makes me slightly trippy out of anticipation. It's worrisome for me because I love all the little details and it really seems like they have to cram in a short time but then I think they pumped these types of games out yearly and they still had decent amount of details crammed in. So a game that took a few years definitely should, but this is completely from the ground up.

I would love to see any clock tower, being particularly honest. Or even the ruins of one, if only for the small nostalgia string pull.

A clock tower (as in Aria of Sorrow or SotN)
A chapel/bell tower(s) (As in SotN)
Alchemy Laboratory (doesn't have to be like the one in SotN, but an area with this theme is a must due to the lore of Bloodstained)
Those are the three essentials for me.

I'd love to see a haunted art gallery kind of like the one in The Lecarde Chronicles 2. That was a brilliant area and really gave me chills. Also a lot of room for creative enemies and environment interactions there. Maybe this could be a nice place for some backer portraits as well!

I never played all of the Castlevanias, but I have always liked the concept of "ruins", and shadows of giant monsters or like bones from them, of course, I am always curious about the lore behind it all, and it that is somewhat explored I always find it interesting. So yeah, ruins.. Somewhere. Angelic Water places are always nice too, and the concept of hell or a pit with demons. Area I would like to see is a place where you find piles of bodies, which is a nod towards the Legion boss. I always found those areas (seen three in Castlevania Games with bones decorating both floor and backdrop), somewhat creepy and nightmarish. The setting really makes what kind of mood you are getting yourself into. That combined with music makes up for unforgettable journeys. Looking forward to see small unique areas, minimal places with copy + phase and easter eggs in the background. And something I would love to see: Those statues and pillars you destroy to get "pass" a place, have them reincarnate so we can destroy them again and again in a smart fashion of ways. The meat found right at the end at the beginning before you talk to Death was something I tried to take many times, each time I went through it. No need for meat all the time was the thought and I hoped every time the bricks would spawn back in so I could destroy them again. Same went with the huge rock in the middle of the merman room, where you as a dog and bat opened the secret passage below. Stuff like that are cool to have. And in the Speed Run Mode, they could just leave them as is, once destroyed, always destroyed - if it would help the speed runner..

The music of the royal/anti chapel made me fall in love with the place, a quiet, almost serene place, yet one with lots of action. and I've never seen an area to match it since.

Anyone remember this specific part of the Skeleton Cave in Harmony of Dissonance? That skull is most-likely an homage to Crocomire from Super Metroid. I personally like that at least one of the past Igavania games paid tribute to the Metroid series for "paving the way" for SotN onwards. So maybe it's not strictly a past "area" I'd like to see, but I'd certainly appreciate seeing the corpse (or just a skull) of a large monster that vaguely resembles one of the iconic Bosses from 2D Metroid titles. (Maybe it could even be a frozen/"crystallized" corpse of Ridley!)

There also were great skulls in the backgrounds, giant bone platforms and a skull that you needed to smash so it rolled down to build a platform. I could see a whole game using bones and skulls as platforms, weapons and such haha. I do not know if there will be a room for Miriam, assigned her from Gebel, after all, he wants her to live in the castle. So maybe instead of collecting furnitures, and if she has a room - why not decorate it with enemies instead? I would become a museum of some sorts, pressing UP to get lore and info of the monster?
