Lestaroth i also think that not adding them all would lose the potential designs. But as i said up there, it would also make the whole voting process meaningless. As an additional information, i saw some people talking about how many familiars the game could have and implying that maybe it wouldn't be much. It really depends on what system you use. For the record, on all Igavanias: CASTLEVANIA: SYMPHONY OF THE NIGHT: 5 familiars (7 on japanese version*): Bat, Demon, Faerie, Ghost, Sword, Nose Demon*, Fairy* CASTLEVANIA: ARIA OF SORROW: 2* familiars: Alastor, Imp *(some other souls may be considered familiars by players, but officially, those are the only familiars in the game). CASTLEVANIA: DAWN OF SORROW: 9 familiars: Alastor, Bat, Corpseweed, Gaibon, Great Armor, Harpy, Mini Devil, Needles, Quetzalcoatl. CASTLEVANIA: CURSE OF DARKNESS: 6 types of familiars (called I.D. Innocent Devils) : Fairy, Battle, Bird, Mage, Devil and Pumpkin. Each familiar having several different forms, with a total of 51 familiar forms. CASTLEVANIA: PORTRAIT OF RUIN: 2 familiars: summon crow and summon ghost. (They act like familiars). Considering the past record, Castlevanias never had a lot of familiars. If Bloodstained follows the same path, AND if all four designs were added, there wouldn't be a lot of room for new familiars... BUT Bloodstained has a shard type specific for familiars. That makes me think the game will try to go further than what past Igavanias did. While my reply to this has nothing to do with Bloodstained, I've got a minor correction in mind. You're forgetting CASTLEVANIA: ORDER OF ECCLESIA: 7 Familiars: Zombie, Skull Spider, Winged Skeleton, Owl, Medusa Head, Polkir, and Jiangshi. (About as many familiars as the JP version of SotN)

Familiars are not much talked about in office, except that there will be Familiars that will take on a 'role' like the ones above (similar concepts, but different designs). Although I've only seen one of the Familiars, they're already modelling them . Also, the team is going to stick to the poll and not devalue the votes.

Fate of Goofball is lost then? Would he be in the game as a painting and statue then? Or a npc?
Goofball plushie would be my first buy, after the giant game package. At least he can help me fight off the cats when they enter my room screaming for more food when I just gave them food.

I kind of like the idea of fusing familiars. Armor would be the "base", but it could be changed into different forms by combining it with something else. The forms would be representative of Fairy, Death, and Goofball, but obviously still based on Armor in some way. It wouldn't be quite the same, but it would still allow then to exist in some form.

I agree they should respect the poll votes, otherwise it loses meaning. I voted for another familiar, though, not the Armor. I guess some kinf of Fairy will be in the game as well. Goofball would be a cool plush toy. Some kind of Death represantion would be more suited as a boss, like in Castlevania. It has always been a very meaningful and important character, so I hope we get it or something similar in Bloodstained. Death is so much more intimidating and memorable than most of the bosses. Most people fear death in real life and it has such a cool visual representation.

I guess that jester-like voices are overused, not to say stale. The crown could denote a creature with experience and wisdom, beyond appearances. And yes, I've always loved specific sound effects and voices for creatures of all sorts, be them common monsters, NPCs, protagonists, bosses and so on. It's going to be part of the fun in Bloodstained. Your plan? It's because I'd do the very same. Could you see the passion and precision in my wording?

Why not go for that? ...And then I just got an idea for these forums. The pointer would become Goofball and you'll make it travel everywhere on the site. I'm not so sure about stardust trails, though. (or then it would follow your pointer)

Yes. I would like to see the other familiars maybe redesigned/repurposed into either enemies, or a different "type" of familiar.
(I might be misrembering things, but I think the old kickstarter poll was made to select a design for an "attacking" type familiar.

Multiple familiars have already been confirmed. The nature of the question here is about including the ones that didn't get the vote back when we voted on which of the designs we wanted included. It is our understanding that the other familiars that didn't get the highest vote will be trashed. That's sad, because some of us really love Goofball.

Even if we get familiars, perhaps Goofball and the others could just make a comeback. Maybe be a familiar locked into some area, that when we enter like.. "Garden", then we have the faery that help us in that environment. Adding that area a flare of some kind. When leaving, so does the familiar because that "creature" belongs in the "Garden".
Perhaps they could have side-quests of some sort in that area. Like.. Break a wall or, kill x amount of enemies before the time ends. I mean, it could make some fun game-area. Of course they would be optional, and winning would make Miriam progress in power, but perhaps also unlock them in the end credits?! ^^
Goofball must be in the game, somehow. Gawd.

Goofball is better than that floating head in the church gameplay but I wouldn't want goofball if it was glowing blue either, that needs to change. You can't see any detail on your little buddy.

I wouldn't say no to having all of them, if such a thing would be possible, only!
Armor was the best choice alright, since miriam is a girl and a manly escort, buff and tanky, is the ideal combination, after all...
But every familiar has their own, unique charm. I like fairy, reminds me of Castlevania's one. Reaper is a great memento of Castlevania, as well. And that imp isn't half bad, either! Why should they be scrapped, since as it is being mentioned, "Lots of familiars will be available in-game"?
I don't demand anything, though, i know making a game is no small task and certainly not an easy ordeal.
