The Legends of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel
Great game. Very text heavy and story driven but a great game nonetheless. I have the sequel, and there is a third one in production. Its supposed to come out in 2017...in Japan of course. Whelp...hopefully it won't take two years to translate, but considering the amount of text I won't be surprised.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Spirit of Justice.
Great addition to the series, so far it's really good (playing the third case).

I apologize for quoting myself but after doing some thinking and searching, I noticed something about Atlus' use of different mythologies. Dracula (public domain) or Vlad the Impaler has yet to make an proper appearance in a Shin Megami Tensei game. The closest we got is Vampire but that's not as indicative as it could be. What do you guys think?

Sleeping Dogs is fantastic! Great combat, intense story. Lots of freedom in-between missions.
I'm currently playing Deus Ex Mankind Divided, Xenogears and State of Decay Year One.

Remember how on the BCB I said I should play Portrait of Ruin again? I found my DS and I'm playing Portrait of Ruin again. When you visit the secret underground rooms in the City of Haze (right of the first Save Room) by sliding to break the floor, try going into the "bakery" room on the right side when you drop down (breakable wall). In this "bakery" room, there's a cash register that you can open by attacking. You can then destroy the chandeliers to drop Gold coins into it to obtain different food items! (Depending on the value of the Gold coin dropped) EDIT: I think there's a similar hidden room in the 13th Street stage as well, except it doesn't have a cash register.

Been playing Trials of Cold Steel: II. I like it but it does feel more difficult than the first one. It's funny, it feels like the game is both longer and shorter than the first one. Can't say why (spoilers and all) but that is what it feels like.
But, damn the reviews of Cold Steel and Cold Steel II are hard to read, the ones done by "professionals." Not gonna lie, the level of blowhard is wind tunnel level.

I picked up Gunvolt 2, which was my most anticipated game this year. So far it has met or exceeded my expectations. I finished GV's story and am currently working on Copen's.
GV's gameplay has changed very little from the first game, which is fine with me, because that was loads of fun. There are a few tweaks that I appreciate, though. Bolt types no longer affect the number of tags you can have (tags are now tied to GV's hair clip equipment), which is nice because in the first game I found very little reason to use anything other than Orochi once I got it. I'll need to replay stages to find the optional hidden stuff, though.
Copen's gameplay is a refreshing change of pace. The game is not too good at explaining the quirks of his Bullit Dash (it took me a few stages to figure out I could hold the L Button to keep the dash going), but he's nonetheless tons of fun to play. I haven't fully mastered him but he gives me the same kind of rush as Gunvolt did when I first played as him.
I love many of the new characters, too. Quinn, Mytyl and Lola are precious cinnamon rolls, and Teseo takes the cake as one of the most entertaining bosses I've faced. I like the other bosses too, especially Gibril, but none can hold a candle to the memelord that is Teseo.
I'm gonna try to finish the game up in the next couple days.

Just started playing Dragon's Dogma Online... and it is so freaking cool XD... the game-play feels like the original game with a few tweaks... though I wish I could read Japanese so I can understand more of the story and the quests. I am only playing it because the Capcom gave a slight hint that it might come over seas (though it is a flimsy) see the article yourself hereOh and if any of you want to play... this tutorial helped me.

Just finished beating XCOM 2 on Commander/Ironman. Not sure what game I'll pick up next. Probably something less intense. Maybe I'll just pick up alligator wrestling instead...

I picked up Gunvolt on Wednesday (after gamestop stonewalled sending to me for two weeks THANKS GAMESTOP) and wowwww I didn't think the first one would be as good as I thought it would be. I kind of picked up the dual pack because I felt like it would be a good deal but Gunvolt is an absolute slam dunk of an action game and that the developers are working on Bloodstained gives me a rock-solid belief that Bloodstained will be amazing.
Gunvolt's gameplay focuses entirely on the tagging enemies and activating your Flashfield to shock them, and that alone makes for interesting combat situations, putting the emphasis on not directly shooting enemies it puts more of a focus on avoiding damage and dodging. You get neat rewards for doing so, so dodging attacks feels good on multiple levels of gameplay. The Flashfield slowing your fall to extend jumps but having the downside of making you easier to get hit mid-fight is brilliant, the game really forces you to get a handle on when to use the Flashfield and when to power down.
Gunvolt also gets a quadrillion bonus points for not forcing me to dash everywhere like Mega Man X does and just binding a toggled run to the L-button. Ideally, Gunvolt would break out into a run after a moment of running or dashing once would put him into top speed, but I guess certain situations could get tricky or something.
The boss battles kick ass, every enemy has like a dozen attacks and you can interact with a lot of them in interesting ways - Viper's gunshots leaving behind explosions for you to bump into if it touches the Flashfield is a great example - and the special attacks in particular are really fun to figure out.
My only complaint is that things can get a bit too frantic - still fine, I think the crushing difficulty is a perfect fit - but if you play with the Japanese voices on, the admirable attempts at translating everything via way of subtitles can cover up the edges of the screen that I really would have liked to see during certain fights.
10/10, Gunvolt is a game entirely built upon rock-solid gameplay and design that doesn't overstay its welcome and presents enough interesting situations with its core mechanic that I can replay a lot of the game's situations and boss fights in my head to a T.

GenericSoda , it's great to hear that you love Gunvolt! It's one of my favorite 3DS games, and it was in fact Gunvolt references that convinced me to finally fork over my money to the Bloodstained campaign. I'm hopeful that Bloodstained will turn out just as fun!
