Enlighten me, what are "forced walking segments"? I'm assuming he means when you are forced to follow behind a slow-moving NPC while they dump exposition on you. Last of Us had a lot of moments like that. Yakuza 5 has a few, as does MGSV. They're in a lot of modern games. Can't say I mind them though. |

I remember story moments in Fable 2 and Dead Space doing that during story-related moments instead of having cutscenes. Another example that popped into my mind was Gears of War. I remember having a difficult time getting by one particular area in the first game, and each time I died and started over, I had to listen to Anya and Marcus say the same things over and over as my movement was limited to walking before I could start actually playing again. As for what I'm playing, I'm picking up Freedom Planet again and a second game I'm not going to mention until I actually beat it. I know it sounds like a tease, but a lot of other games I mentioned in this thread end up getting interrupted or dropped for some reason and I don't want to jinx myself. |

After 200 deaths I finally put my boot up Gwyn's ass, and thus endeth Dark Souls 1. I don't think I'll be revisiting it, not with how the later half of the game goes, but eagerly awaiting Dark Souls 3 later this year.

I'm finding Xenoblade Chronicles X to be an all consuming game. The plot is... not fundamentally bad. The presentation is pretty lame, though. It took until Chapter 8 for me to really get interested in what's going on. I find myself liking the writing of non-plot important quests more then the main story. I like the 'Fashion Gear' concept. I can dress my character as I please and not worry about sacrificing stats to do it. In games like this, I always give my character face concealing headgear. Some people think that a character needs a visible face for the audience to come to like the character, I like to challenge that concept. Before I knew it, I had developed a strong fondness for a masked, faceless protagonist.  I rather like how my character looks, but I suppose some might feel that he looks like a generic foot soldier from some hopelessly bland evil empire. |

I finished the 2nd game I mentioned in January 11th. Finally being able to play through the entirety of "Tales from the Borderlands" was great. It's possibly the best thing Telltale's made, but the technical issues were super noticeable in the 5th episode.

I'm currently (and by currently, I mean I'm alt-tabbed out of it) The Elder Scrolls Online. I couldn't enjoy the game during the open beta, but now I'm finding a lot to love. Maybe it's because I'm playing a different faction, though.

This is my sinner in Freedom Wars, I made her look as close as possible as I could to The Major from Ghost in the Shell:  Right now with what I've unlocked, she looks a bit older than the ARISE version of Motoko. |
