I decided to check out Yandere Simulator after seeing the developer videos on youtube. On one hand, I know it's supposed to be a goofy anime high school parody with stealth action in the style of Hitman where you play as a crazy person and nothing is supposed to be taken seriously (for example, you get different bonuses depending on what pair of panties your character is wearing). On the other, I'm a little uncomfortable with some of the incredibly dark options the player can do in the game (kidnapping people and breaking their minds in order to convince them into committing murder-suicide, bullying students into committing suicide) and the potential victims are just high school students. I don't think I have it in me to do that stuff, but I do like how they're optional. However, I thought the creator was putting a lot of polish and effort in his game, it looked ambitious, I'm interested in the non-violent alternatives to accomplish your goals (blackmail, gossip, and acting like a Game of Thrones character in general) and I had fun just goofing around in the sandbox. It's something I want to re-visit in the future once when more progress gets made. Started REmake on ps4 via Remote Play.. Makes a great handheld title and controls extremely well with the Vita's controls ヘ(^_^)ヘ Those nubs though. lol I actually did that a few months back, they certainly improved on the remote play lag this gen. It was fun to mess around with, made me want a RE:DS port. Control-wise though it played horrendously with the particular scheme I like to use on remake. The other ones are fine though and I would assume the new control scheme (aka baby mode) would have no problems. Nothing beats a giant tv with surround sound when it comes to classic Resi. |

The second one was toughest for me on the zealot difficulty as I never got ammo (more lame than hard). Haven't tried the hardest setting on 3, I'll have to try it some time. Goodluck |

We taped like 5 covers over the windows to block out any sunlight to heighten the scares. lol I played the first one in the dead morning due to scheduling issues and was still scared witless. A great horror game doesn't need you to further heighten the scares in my opinion. 2 should be even more so when I get to it.  Dead Space 1 did nothing for me. I played that one in the dead of night at 2 AM pitch black room and I didn't even jump once. I only played at night for that one due to scheduling as well. Never understood why people found it scary; I also found it bit more frustrating than fun more times than once for me. What am I playing now? Nothing.  |

I'm currently playing: PS4: The Witcher 3, Final Fantasy Type-0 HD, Shovel Knight Wii U: Mario Maker, Smash Bros 4, Bayonetta DS: Castlevania DoS and OoE I'm looking to getting back on my PS3 and playing Rocksmith 2014, Ninja Gaiden 1-3, Diablo 3, and Final Fantasy X/X-2 remaster. One thing at a time though. Nice line-up you got going there ^_^ Thank you I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks so. |

I agree that it should never need any extra help but I find horror games are much more fun in the dark. It really helps immerse you in the game. I loved the atmosphere in DS1 and 2 but yeah, they aren't classic horror. Sorta just unsettling with jump-out scares but still a lot of fun. 3 was super actiony but they did something really interesting with the coop that I won't spoil here. |

Never played Dead Space games. I've played some horror games, but I'm a guy who can get frightened easily, so it's not always easy for me to play games that are intended to scare you. (Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward also had some moments where the atmosphere was bothering me a bit.)
However, I do know some people who insist that Dead Space isn't a survival-horror game at all. Usually their reason is that survival-horror games generally are about making the player feel helpless and combat is generally a bad idea, but in their experience they could and would actually go off hunting enemies in Dead Space.
Anyway, the update that hit Super Mario Maker yesterday brought me back to that game for a bit, but now I've the drive to level up more gear in Splatoon, so I'm back to squiddy nonsense. |
