Mana Series and Seiken Densetsu Collection

Thanks for the thread Astaroth, Legend of Mana deserves its own thread... I hope we get it out in NA soon... the best of the best of the games XD

since it is so expensive, along with the original games, I hope they include the remakes with this bundle (I doubt it but a guy can dream right?)

these are the people developing the mana collection, cheer them on and ask respectfully for english version, also ive heard from at least one mana streamer on twitch they have told people they know at squeenix that people are wanting this, we just need to keep the awareness up until m2 or squeenix announce yes or no

I went ahead and ordered this off of Amazon Japan... it was at a reduced price, so made up mostly for the shipping. Yay! Only 45ish days to go!

Propaganda, with a thin veneer of community. 

I have mixed feelings about this honestly. I love the 'early' mana games (1,2,3 and Legend of mana... though the final one was more of an acquired taste for me. I think I completed the whole game before it finally grew on me, thank god for the ng+ difficulty settings or else I probably never would have loved it).

but yeah, whenever people ask me what my favorite game is, I refuse to answer, because I love so many from so many genres that I can't rank them over each other, it really depends on my mood... BUT... As a tween, I would have said mana. Not only that, I got a super famicom for the sole purpose of being able to play Seiken Densetsu 3. I can't read Japanese but I played the fan translation so much th at I didn't need it after awhile, I pretty much memorized the lines (or the gist of them rather) =P.

So yeah. I'm really happy that the west has a CHANCE of getting SD3 in some official capacity after all these years (man I was so CRUSHED to learn they canned it back in the day. I recall the reason being that they couldn't fit the required memory on western carts or something too, but in retrospect I can't believe it because I'm pretty sure Terranigma had more, and it was released, so what the dill?!).

The reason why I'm less happy about that is because this is very much an iconic series to me personally, and after legend of mana, they really really ruined it. Seeing them profit from it still without making any effort to keep the series alive in general kinda makes me upset. They need to stop capitalizing on the whole mascot kiddie wonderland-esque nature the more modern games give it (starting with Legend of mana), and go back to the roots where yes it had some of those qualities, but only as a taste, not effing EVERYTHING.

Of course that's not the only problem with the newer ones, but I think that whole esthetic makes the whole design philosophy of the games in other areas be regarded as having to be weird, unique, and quirky too rather than just being sound in more traditional methods.

It's a shame TC didn't play SD3, it has some amazing music... have you listened to the soundtrack? Goodness. Though I really like the BGM for Legend of mana's crimson dragon palace theme (Blazing castle.. though it sounds pretty ho-hum by itself. when you're actually playing the game fighting the enemies, it just is so much better)

If someone can give me (or us?) a basic japanese copy/paste message, sure, I'll tweet M2. Seems there's little point in tweeting them in english if you ask me. Could be wrong, tho'.

(Also, yes, of course I want this released in the US.)
