I've noticed sometimes when users double post or get their posts edited together by mods/admins for double-posting, they're usually quoting someone. I know there's a tutorial that shows how to quote multiple people in one post, but is there a plug-in or something that provides an easier way to do that? Well, I found a plugin that should do this for us. Let's see how it goes. Well, it seems that you have to edit them a bit differently once they are merged. |

They probably exist already, seeing as how old the forum is, but it would be cool if there were more weekly events. I have no idea what they could pertain to. They could be anything. Maybe tournaments or competitions. I don't quite know the level of activity on this forum yet but games could be a fun thing to build the community. Playstation, Steam, WoW.
Anybody else have any ideas?

We have a dice rolling plug-in, and we have used that a few times to fight boss monsters for prizes. I am working on some new things that might be cool for the forums, but I really need to talk with the upcoming community manager about that. |

What about a forum newsletter? Or online mini magazine cataloging the events of the week of month? Have it be a topic all it's own to allow members to download if they wish.
Could mention forum games, key Bloodstained topics (if any developer or Iga expressed interest in one and communicates it), podcast summary or retrospective (what would participants change if they could go back, thoughts that didn't get communicated well or fully enough, etc), showcase community arts (artwork, crafts, remixes, etc).
But it might be quite a bit of work for something that might only barely take off. Or might be a draw point for communication effectiveness.
Just an idea.

I have considered that. That's one of the reasons I started the podcast. A transcript of the podcast would be perfect. Remember that everyone gets Kickstarter updates though, and that content is probably enough.

Yep, Ben confirmed it in episode 2 of the podcast. The person was even already hired back then.
And I agree on Mike's thoughts regarding the newsletter idea. The Kickstarter updates already do those things pretty much.

Anyway, something that's not as much a suggestion but something that I've noticed and has seemed somewhat odd...some of the previously very active members who went on to become moderators aren't posting anymore. Is there a reason for that? For example, I just looked it up and Arcueid, who has the most posts of any user on the forum still, has only posted 4 times in the last 3 months. Leon posted twice on December 4th and before that not since September.
I don't know, it just seems weird to me. I still see them online. I imagine there are some posts in a moderator-only area, but they shouldn't be discouraged from participating with the rest of us still (if that is the case). If it were me, it would be hard to remain impartial and not have a bias towards certain opinions, but these guys used to contribute a lot to the forum post-wise and I just think it'd be good to have them back lol.

The page numbers and navigation links should also appear on the bottom of each page in a thread. It may be redundant, but lots of forums do that.
I hate having to scroll all the way back up to the top to go to the next page...

Mike, please add an autosave function to writing a reply - I just wrote something for like 15 minutes and when hitting reply I got a server error. I hit the back arrow in my browser hoping it had saved what I wrote but there was nothing there but what I wanted to quote. Needless to say this pissed me off quite a bit  I think users shouldn't need to be afraid of losing what they wrote when hitting reply. |
