It's probably a little late for this, but I'm issuing a huge arachnophobia warning to interested parties who either haven't played yet or haven't gotten very far. There's a portion of an area called Deepnest where spiders endlessly crawl across the foreground (one type of enemy even emerges from the foreground before attacking), and egg sacs on the ground will explode into countless children when you pass them.
It's worse than a nightmare.
When the game first came out on Steam, I initially skipped it because I figured a bug-centric game would have at least one notable spider. At a certain point, though, after looking at the main character enough, I came to the conclusion that the spiders in this game would be way too stylized to be frightening, and enthusiastically waited for the Switch version. Some of them are indeed too stylized to be frightening, but not all of them.
In Resident Evil, thanks to the room-based structure and the slow combat, it's mostly possible to shut your eyes while occasionally opening the map to check where you are. In Donkey Kong Country 2, since the spider is a player character, you can squint and try to focus your gaze on the edges of the screen (maybe even tape a piece of paper on the center of your TV if you feel confident enough). I have not been able to devise any similar trick for Hollow Knight.
