So, what is it? your favorite part of Castlevania? and what parts of the old game do you guys want in Bloodstained?
I'll start, the part I really want is the downward kick (that makes you jump on enemies) (oh and it would help where "part" came from ... if you know) SotN (after getting double jump)

the music and the atmosphere...this is a very odd thing for me to say because I'm normally a gameplay purist who can ignore aesthetics completely and still enjoy the game.

Give me a wide array of weapons and abilities with a huge map and I'm happy. Bloodstained is already going to have this so I'm good I think.

The soundtrack, atmosphere, and RPG system. Pretty much what the poster above me said. What got me into Igavania games was the combination of Metroid exploration and RPG elements. Just seemed like the perfect combination to me.

All of the above things are very important to me, but even moreso is something harder to explain...kind of the charm or essence of the old games. Though gothic and with crazy monsters, the games have kind of a lighthearted adventure feel to them, with nonsensical but awesome little touches that added to the unique atmosphere: items/hearts from candles, meat from walls, hidden areas everywhere, non-obvious interactable objects (chairs, telescopes, clocks, giant pianos).
Solid gameplay and dark atmosphere are the coat of paint finishing what is really an energetic, fun jog through the castle. Further evidencing this is how Iga really pushes for Yamane's sogns to have catchy refrains. The good news about all this is that I really think Iga gets this, and it's exactly what is missing in a huge way from the last 3D games. That personality is completely gone.

The music and gothic atmosphere, weapon diversity and leveling system. Going to have to go with those. All that is essential in an igavania game

I'm very hopeful that delicate little features such as hearts from candles, food from walls, hidden areas, etc will be present in Bloodstained. Regarding the candles, I always loved the Mimic, Scary & Trick candles from Circle of the Moon and trying to hit the tiny entities that jumped out before they melted into the floor. While the giant piano was a striking attribute in Dawn of Sorrow, it didn't reward the player with anything other than being a simple tool for playing a few bum notes on. Wouldn't it be great if there was a similar piano in Bloodstained that harboured a horrible secret ... that one could summon a really nasty apparition if a certain tune was played on it? *evil grin* Also, remember the eerie portrait on the wall where its creepy eyes followed Soma's every move? Nice touch but could've been better if the painting suddenly came alive and gobbled you up if you pranced around or observed it too much! I think these kind of features have lots of potential to draw the player even deeper into the game.

Basically all the questions I asked here are details I want IN the game along with music that really fits the games setting ala ( SOTN's soundtrack)....and....the less anime like the dialog the better. The DS games got too much into that zone. (SOTN felt like it had dialog that fit into it's era)....
Will it be two handed game? ( equip weapons for both hands, maybe even shields of some sort coming back)
-Will certain weapons have special attacks ( the alucard sword had a teleport slash for instance, shield rod also had special abilities) ?
-Will any items change Miriam's appearance? ( capes, different shields...etc)
-If transformations return will it be a deep system with abilities for each transformation?
-Will cool abilities like gravity jump make a return in a new way of course?
-Will there be some sorta focus on easter egg type equipment like those boots that added to your height? ( actually made you taller)
-Will enemies actually drop enemy specific weapons or items? ( i.e. medusa dropping a medusa shield) - this was a really cool feature and I think it should be considered. Items that feel like they would belong to the enemy you got it from too.
-Will we able to attack diagonally again or is that not coming back?
-Will we be able to slide?
-Will the familiars be like in SOTN where it has a deep system which includes leveling, and having genuine personalities, and cool abilities or features? ( i.e. talking, helping you with hints, and changing as they level up like equipping the sword familiar as a weapon)
-Will the familiars be able to stay with us instead of using MP? ( I think that matters a lot)
-More about the castle and inspiration and influences when designing it. Will there be a focus on making the location lived in and feel as real as possible. Maybe a location showing weather effects that change, one moment fog another time rain...or...inhabitants that help you along or maybe even try to make things harder for you...( it's my biggest fear in terms of this game, as the games I liked least were usually liked less because the castle wasn't as memorable)
- Any clarification if button input spells might come back in some form even just for a few really cool spells. ( A really cool spell for example and a pretty simple button input was Dark Metamorphosis...loved how Alucard yelled it and then started glowing red...also cool how blood gave him life.. a cool spell similar to that and spells of that nature would be cool with a SIMPLE button input)

I know they are not going with a SotN style game, but I hope some of the RPG elements remain in tact. Things like floating text for damage, armor/weapons with stats and elemental bonuses. That stuff adds a ton of depth and fun for me, I hope to see at least some of it return.

Also, remember the eerie portrait on the wall where its creepy eyes followed Soma's every move? Nice touch but could've been better if the painting suddenly came alive and gobbled you up if you pranced around or observed it too much! Be careful what you wish for there buddy! I don't know if you've ever played Rondo of Blood but there was something like that in that game. VERY ANNOYING!!!!!!!! In... I think it was the 5th stage??? 5A I believe. The Pirate ship level. Down in the hull there was a room with a portrait that would "come alive" and spin at you (spin about a vertical axis like a top). I think the portrait was of some random nobility (kinda looked like a portrait of Henry the VIII I once saw... but anywho) and when you whipped the painting it would spin away and then spin right back to spot slightly closer to you than where it was when you whipped it. This could easily back you into a corner if you were not very careful. The part that was annoying was that if you got too close the painting would "grab you" and turn you into a portrait in the painting and then break your portrait.... Killing you INSTANTLY...... REGARDLESS OF HOW MUCH HEALTH YOU HAD LEFT!!!!!As you may guess, despite every effort to be careful of my distance, I got caught by this a number of times while playing this game, and a number of times being at full health.... So no, I do NOT want to see something like that in Bloodstained. Insta-gibs/insta-kills are not welcome from my perspective. Something that can kill you in one hit at a lower level, but not after you level up some is ok by me. But an absolute insta-kill is a no-no in my book.

I agree with a previous comment that there should be some sorta relics or abilities that allow enemy name displays, and damage numbers to appear on screen... ( IF YOU WANT THEM) ..so a turn on and off function should be added. The more RPG like the better for this game.

Really want shields back. It was nice to see visual additions to the character. It made getting those items very exciting while in the DS games you would get an item and know it won't present anything new visually which was a bummer.
Same goes for Capes...Capes in SOTN were exciting cuz it shows on the character which is awesome but in the DS games it's just...... an item....that adds points. :/

Hellfire esque button combination spells, fluid main character movement, an awesome array of weapons armors and items, beautiful art work. Some sort of visual change to outfits(The cape was awesome, specially the twilight cape)

There's nothing much that I'd request that I'm sure won't already make it in.
The only thing I'd like to see a return of is an unlockable Level 255 mode from Order of Ecclesia. That was *fun*.
... maybe even make it unlockable Level 999. <.<
