You're making assumptions here. No need for him to remain as such, as the wisecracker is clearly more popular, so they could just as easily change his personality back. After all, they changed it the first time, didn't they? I hesitate to say this, but looking through your posts on this topic, you're not exactly coming at this with an unbiased view. It could clearly work, but you don't seem to want it to. That's fine, and that's how you feel, but when it gets the point where you're imposing unrealistic limitations on hypothetical game ideas just to make it "suck", and using double standards to try to make a point (see the eye candy bit), you need to take a step back and cool down about the topic. That would be a jarring change to DMC2 Dante's personality. There has to be a reason why DMC4 and DMC2 Dante's personalities are so different. Probably something happened in between that changed him. How can you justify him just suddenly reverting to his old personality? It doesn't make sense, be realistic here. Please don't tell me what to do, this is for discussing our thoughts, regardless of how much it may not be to your liking. I gave my thoughts, and even said it'd be good for a side story. I've played through DMC1-4 and DMC2 being the worst out of them gives me doubts on the success of a sequel to DMC2. To begin with, what Ixbran first suggested was a story detailing the events between DMC4&DMC2. That could be interesting, as there is potiential. Dante's growth into DMC2 Dante, Nero and Vergil's involvement, etc. I am being realistic, and the reversion could easily be explained by events that happen in-game. It isn't beyond the realm of possibility. The gameplay, plot, weapons, etc. could all be great, as we've seen what they can do. That being said, I have no vested interest in this topic, but when your tone and actions border on hostile and your criticisms go from disliking a game to using hyperbole and double standards to attack the game, and arguably, when you make dismissive comments directed at another forum poster, I can and will tell you what to do, and what I told you to do was cool off. That's all. I didn't tell you to stop talking, or to change your mind about the game, or that you were wrong and DMC2 is the best game ever made. I just told you to cool off I'm fine with you discussing your thoughts. You could be talking about one of my favorite games and I'd be fine with you being adamantly against any idea of them having a sequel. You could cry from the mountaintops that, say, SotN was awful, and that'd be fine, provided the way you were choosing to do it was fair and respectful to other users. That hasn't been the case here, and that's what I took issue with. If me asking you to chill a bit has bothered you, you can always take it up with the mods. |

Yes, it sold well because the game before it was really good, so they thought this would be even better. It had poor gameplay, a really dull story, easy difficulty, and none of Dante's smart-ass attitude. If anything, it should be commended for leading up to one of the best action games ever, DMC3&DMC4 and nothing else.
That aside, what are you expecting out of a sequel to DMC2? Lucia is a bland female protagonist, just there for the sake of having a "sexy female". Dante is a silent protagonist now with very few lines. There is no Vergil or Trish (unlock able characters don't count). I don't see what can come after."
The very first word in that post is pretty rude. You could've just as easily said "Acknowledging it doesn't make what I said earlier irrelevant". It gets across the same message without the combative tone. Later on in another post you have " ...Wow. You are the first person I've met that is so adamant about there being a DMC2 sequel. Most people including me trashes it for having an unoriginal plot with some random CEO being evil for the sake of being evil, having poor gameplay mechanics(gun spam being that OP is stupid), and having an uninteresting sidekick imo. Trish and Lady are infinitely more interesting imo. More power to you I suppose. The only thing I actually liked about DMC2 was Dante's desperation devil trigger or Majin form. Really made you feel like a God. Unfortunately there is no Super Dante mode " The bolded parts come off as dismissive to me. |

I don't think you're being particularly disrespectful, but I do think both of you might be coming across a *little* more heatedly than either of you might intend. I don't think Dragon was really telling you what to do, Arcueid, just expressing his disagreement and a criticism of your reasoning, But I also think Dragon might have misinterpreted some of your statements, the "wow" there didn't strike me as dismissive, but rather just honest (as in really the first person met with that view, not dismissing the view out of hand). So I don't think either of you was acting inappropriately, at least not intentionally, but I can see how both might have said things that might have been taken in unintended ways. So I therefore think that both of you making your benign intentions clear should solve any tensions and misinterpretations and such  *snuggles?* |

I'm particularly fond of Dante's DMC4 body type, would love them to release a DMC3 costume for him. Dat open chest coat with dem pecs and abbs<3
also I like DmC!Vergils design more than standard vergils, very regal and refined, would be cool if he got that as an alt costume in DMC4SE.

That outfit makes me think of Dante slaying his way down to the ninth circle of hell, and perhaps establishing a base there. Growing older, maybe gaining some weight. Becoming happier over time...maybe eventually even jolly. Hrm. |

I actually got DMC4SE when it came out, though between Bloodborne and Witcher 3 I only played it once for a short time. I'll get to it in due time, but it kind of bugs me I'll be stuck for half game with Nero and his boring one weapon one gun setup. Not to thrilled about using proud souls for buying skills either, looks like red orbs will become completely pointless after I get all the health/DT upgrades :/

How does donguri990 compare to the Truestyle players? Well, I'm going to break it down as best as I can from what I remember about the typical rules and what you would normally see in those types of Truestyle videos. Here are the rules on the site. 1. All footage must be recorded in DMD mode.
2. Maximum length for videos is six minutes. No, I won't allow extra time for non-turbo players.
3. Minimum length is three minutes, but four or five are preferred.
4. Maximum of 3 clips per video. But if you want to use only 1 or 2 clips, that's fine.
5. All rooms MUST be fully cleared.
6. Any group of enemies or boss can be selected, but remember that they must be defeated within a certain timeframe: you don't want a fight that will be too short or too long.
7. Caps alert: NO EDITING ALLOWED UNTIL THE FREESTYLE ROUND. This means: no speeding/slowing down of footage, no cutting things out, no insertion of clips, no subtitles (except before or after the gameplay), and no use of cheat codes to give you or the enemies infinite health, etc.
8. You can, however, add your own choice of background music. Indeed, doing so is encouraged. Anything other than hearing Taste The Blood 50 times in a row... >_>;
9. Also, you can freely edit in the Freestyle round.
10. Super costumes are allowed. A good reason for using one is preferred, however.
11. And finally, webcam/digicam footage is allowed, but if the quality is too poor I reserve the right to disqualify your entry: the same applies if it is too laggy or choppy. Try to explore other ways of recording and only use webcam or digicam footage as a last resort. Now with that malarkey out of the way, typical Truestyle videos focus on one character since that's how rounds are usually divided up. (One round is Vergil(Darkslayer), One round is Trickster, etc as far DMC3) They also aren't typically about showing off against one single enemy, but clearing out several while showing off. That's for the first video. I could see the second video being in the Freestyle round, despite the Vergil break. donguri990 clearly has talent and I'm curious to see what they could do with the restrictions above. TL;DR: I think they can win a round or two and if the tournament comes back, then I'd like to see them enter.(Along with Dango, Tikok, Brea, Ramada, Joch, Moe, Pokey, etc.) |

I see, interesting. Actually, it seems donguri990 did join a tournament back in Janurary called /v/style Tournament 6. Here were the rules for that tournament. Traditional:
Pick a game in the list below
Make a video showcasing that game (you can mix in games or characters if you want, move from Bayonetta to DMC2, or whatever makes you happy)
3 minute minimum, 10 minute Maximum for total video. Individual clips can be any length as long as they fufill rule conditions
Video effects are allowed. *new* For Ninja Gaiden, MGR, Bayonetta, DMC1/2 and Godhand, you are allowed to splice your footage ONLY in the event that you are swapping weapons/movesets. For example if someone is playing NG2 and they wish to go from Dragon Sword to Lunar as well as any ninpo or projectiles, they can do so and splice out the loading times as well as scrolling through the menu.
Clip must have you finishing a defined in-game objective or clearing out a room of enemies(as in, no more enemies spawn).
Boss fights are accepted, Bloody palace Boss variants are accepted
Game must be at the highest difficulty or near highest (DMD/very hard, lvl 3/die, v-rated/ultra, etc.). With regards to DMC4, anything above SoS is allowed
Music overlays are accepted into entries
Bloody Palace and BP style arenas are accepted
Super costume is allowed, DLC weapons are allowed
Costume modifications are allowed
SpoilerAL/Debug mode is allowed for swapping characters (Dante fighting Credo or Sanctus, Nero on Saviour, etc.)
Spawning multibosses are allowed
Due to an internal vote, the recent Styleswitching mod for DMC3 is currently not allowed for VSTV Traditional due to it technically being outside of the game's engine, however it can fully be used for Freestyle.
