I hope those Hori controllers are wired lol NEED...WIRES AHA This. Wireless is OK, but it is REALLY annoying when you have to charge the damn thing. Even having backup re-chargeable batteries gets to be a chore. #LAZY |

My plan is progressing accordingly.
I'l have today be as slow paced as possible, so I can meet my sleep schedule right after dinner, then proceed to sleep and wake myself up slightly before the event starts.
It'll be a hectic day as by the time the Treehouse team runs their event, i'll be having a pre-schedudled medical appointment. Nothing serious, but can't really move it.

Breath of the Wild looked good. Splatoon sounds ok, though I've never played it. That Octopath game looked the coolest to me with it's retro graphics thrown into a 3D world.
It looks to me like Nintendo has doubled down on the gimmick route though. For $300 I think I'm gonna have to pass unless maybe they package in the Zelda game. Too bad the pro controller is an add on. I'm not sure what to expect for their online service price. Hopefully it's less than what I pay for Xbox.
When this system has 3 games I feel I must have, I will probably give it a shot. I wish they would have talked about backwards compatibility and maybe keeping some of your digital purchases to move over to the Switch. This thing ships in March, so I don't see why they are so stingy with this kind of information.

Alright, the presentation has concluded. Some of my thoughts for the game's revealed.
1, 2 Switch: Looks like a 'get to understand the new controller' game, like Wii Sports for the Wiimote and NintendoLand for the Gamepad. Doesn't seem all that interesting, but that may just be because of how Nintendo presented it.
ARMS: Actually looks pretty fun, we'll see how it turns out. Also, I can hear the disturbing, #$@%ed up fanart of Ribbon Girl being sketched already.
Fire Emblem Warriors: It's a game that fans of Warriors games have been asking for for a while now, so I'm happy for them. Hopefully the Lord of all FE games can get in, along with other notables, like the Black Knight of the Tellius games and Robin of Awakening. Also, hope the Fire Emblem amiibos can sync with the game. (But, while she may be a popular character, can we please avoid Tharja?)
Splatoon 2: As a Splatoon fan, there was so much in that short segment that got me excited. Definitely something I'll do everything in my power to get as soon as possible.
Super Mario Odyssey: I was a little turned-off at first, with Mario in a realistic city. (Made me flashback to the annoying artstyle conflicts of Sonic 06.) But that faded away when I saw more of the gameplay, and saw that there were still the Mario character designs that I love.
Breath of The Wild: Launch title! Awesome! And there's so much about the game that I know I'll love! I am getting this game! I am getting this game!

So, Nintendo has been uploading videos of games to their Youtube account. These videos contain some information that wasn't in the presentation.
For example, the trailer for 'Mario Kart 8 Deluxe' reveals that, much like how the original 8 had crossover characters like Link and Isabelle, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is going to have the Inkling Boy and Inkling Girl of Splatoon fame.

Still feeling frustrated with no hardware spec info...
As a huge fan of Super Mario 64, Mario Odessey seems extremely intriguing, new hat gimmicks yay!

I am a little disappointed with the announced games, and the lack of mention of Virtual console. I might get it for Zelda (it looks very nice, but I haven't played Zelda except on GBA) and Yooka-Laylee this year. I would like to get Donkey Kong games and Bloodstained on Switch, and some other 2D platformers. I guess I just need Virtual console and I am happy  Yeah, it has a multitouch screen. |
