Yeah Galamoth the unique weapons was the spice of SotN... that was what I missed in all the other Castlevanias, the soul system made up for that in AoS and DoS. I can't wait to see what Iga-sama and his team has in store for us in Bloodstained XD

Even when I wasn't even trying to grind Levels in Order of Ecclesia, I was still grinding. I'm a sucker for farming rare items from enemies [and in OoE's case, Glyphs as well]. I end up gaining a few levels every time I try to get enemies to drop items. That's how I ended up being in the 90's (level) by the time I finished DoS. Souls and all that. I love that aspect of the games. Farming all the drop items is so much fun for me and it gives the game a lot of replayability.

If we are getting NG+ with increased difficulty, then I would like to see something like the Curved Nil Greatsword from Dark Souls 2. The sword gets stronger with every NG cycle. I would kind of be like the Badelaire I guess.

Unexpected gameplay "surprises"/options (like Shield Rod and various shields combo Alucard uses in SotN). Items that get raised stats later (like the Walking Armor). Something like a "luck mode" that Sotn had (since some drops are extremely rare and some enemies are extremely easy to beat).

Oh and favorite RPG element to me was the powerful (sub weapon multiplied) attacks Richter made in Symphony of the Night. Those one felt super-strong!

Some of the stuff we're posting isn't all that "RPG-ish" really, but important and great aspects nonetheless.
Bloodstained has been said to have special moves with inputs of some sort. We don't know if they will be weapon special attacks, spells, both or something else, though.

Since this thread is starting to become a Symphony of the Night troll, allow me to add a few more from some of the OTHER IGAvanias. Aria and Dawn of Sorrow -
- Power of Dominance
- As someone who finds the Blue Mage to my favorite Final Fantasy class, and is thrilled by the concept of learning a monster's way of fighting, and then using it to fight back, I simply LOVED the Power of Dominance in Aria of Sorrow, and its concurrent sequel, Dawn of Sorrow. Epic.
- Secret ending prerequisites (Aria)
- It took me a couple of play-throughs to figure out that the ending that I got wasn't the actual ending. When one equips the Succubus, Flame Demon, and Giant Bat, one gets a new sequence of events that really give the backbone to what the story is about.
- Weapon upgrades (Dawn)
- Not that I found Yoko Belnades to be particularly entertaining, I did like the service that she provided where you could infuse current weapons with the souls of demons you gained dominance over, to create better, or sometimes even new weapons entirely. It gave the game a bit more balance, created an atmosphere where you didn't HAVE to give up your favorite kind of weapon for better stat ones, and there wasn't one best weapon at the end of the game. (Yeah Alucard Sword/Claimh Solais, I'm lookin' at you guys...) B-/
Circle of the Moon -
- Multi-item drop mechanic
- I believe that Castlevania: Circle of the Moon was one of the first games in the IGAvania series, and also the first one to feature a 'double drop' mechanic, that would allow for enemies to essentially drop one of two things: Equipment and items, or DSS cards, which were used to enhance Nathan's magical abilities. I thought this was very cool, and was happy to see this return in later installments of the series such as Aria of Sorrow, and Order of Ecclessia.
- Battle Arena
- One secret that I loved about Circle of the Moon, was the battle arena hidden in the Chapel section of the castle. I always love areas of the game where one must prove their mettle, so I loved the spark that I acquired after clearing the arena for the first time.
Order of Ecclesia -
- Multi-weapon character
- Shanoa comes onto the roster in this game and is capable of dual wielding different weapons, or glyphs, and can even combine them to create strong dual-attacks. (In fact I believe she is the only one to be able to dual wield, outside of Soma having two weapons 'technically' equipped through the use of the Doppelganger soul)
- Element/Physical affinities
- One piece that I REALLY liked about Order of Ecclesia was that the more you used a glyph, the stronger the co-existing attribute was increased. Like Electricity, Darkness, slashing, ETC.
Portrait of Ruin -- Multiple characters
- I loved Jonathan, and I equally loved Charlotte, and I loved it even more that there were two characters that you could switch between. Especially with some bosses that put pressure on the interchangeable characters, such as Death, who gains massive Defense, or Magic Defense, depending on what forme he's in, and encourages you to switch characters.
- Sub-weapon levels
- I LOVED that the sub-weapons now had levels introduced in this game. I also loved that the animations changed depending on what weapon it was, and even things like MP use, number of hits, ETC. Similar to Shanoa's attributes, but still different.
...And this is just to name a FEW things. So yes, Symphony of the night was a good game, but I don't want another Symphony of the Night, I want Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. (Sorry just needed to puff off some hot air, got a little irritated form all of the 'SotN' posts, ehehehe...)
