The fact that someone on these boards with an FE character avatar is all for not having a WiiU or NS version of Bloodstained? Talk about hypocrisy. We're also on the official Bloodstained forum, so, following your logic, anyone advocating a move that could easily do harm to Bloodstained would also be a hypocrite. This sure is a fine case of a pot calling the kettle black. That being said, I'm not actually seeing much hypocrisy here, rather just people with different perspectives and priorities when it comes to Bloodstained in this situation. Some people are concerned with the overall quality/success being damaged by funds being drained for an additional version, while others don't want to be treated like second-class backers. There is nothing wrong with taking either side and there is certainly no need to justify your position as they both stem from personal wants. The point that is actually being argued about is whether a Switch version at launch would make sense from a business perspective. A few individuals made the bold claim that the Switch success (and with it its BS version) is all but guaranteed and a few others refuted that there is no basis to make that statement and, as such, a Switch version would a gamble not worth taking. No one is arguing against a Switch version, rather just a Switch version at launch. And sometimes problems or things that bother us do not get resolver or get better by ignoring them. In a lot of cases this is true, but it completely solves the problem on a forum that actually has an ignore/block function. If you can't stand someone and they aren't actually breaking any rules, block 'em.

If you can't stand someone and they aren't actually breaking any rules, block 'em. See, it would be nice if Blocking on these forums actually did anything. Case in point I have you blocked, yet i still see when you post comments on boards and you can still see mine. On most forums soon as you block someone they completely vanish, and said persons blocked are unable to see your posts/topics either. This forum shows me blank spaces where someone i have blocked has commented " This post is hidden. Display Post". While the person i have blocked IE you, can also see and respond to my posts, thats not how its supposed to work. Its annoying. on any other site a block/ignore removes any trace of them outside of people im not blocking responding to that persons comments, and them never being able to see me or my posts/topics i make. Maybe if these forums implemented a proper block/ignore system thatd be one thing, but as it is now you being blocked means nothing when the forum doesn't even bother to hide you from me, or me from you properly.

You don't have to click that "Display Post" button, y'know? A bit of self-restraint goes a long way. Also you blocking me resulting in me not being able to see your posts is a silly way to implement block as it prevents me from properly following the discussion in a thread. Your personal settings shouldn't encroach upon the forum experience of other members. Might be prudent to direct these complaints/suggestions to the dedicated subforum, though.

Please stop being disrespectful to one another. All of you. I'm not promoting an echo chamber of positivity, but there's a difference between making your point and starting an argument because you feel you must change someone's opinion on something. That's obviously not going to happen. For the rest of this thread: If you can't say something nice about a member, don't say anything at all. I'm probably just grumpy because this is the first thing I'm waking up to today, but please just let all this negativity go. This is a very necessary thread that serves a good purpose. It's flat out asking for people's opinions. It's OK to explain your position. Its OK to have an opinion on someone else's opinion. Just please don't try and change anyone or disrespect them for having their opinion. I'm glad we have a diverse pool of people who think differently. I need coffee.

I'm genuinely surprised there is still so much negative hostility in regards to Bloodstained being involved on a Nintendo Console. The fact that someone on these boards with an FE character avatar is all for not having a WiiU or NS version of Bloodstained? Talk about hypocrisy. It seems to me people just dont think it will do well on Nintendo simply because its a fad to say so. Initially i wasn't sure how I felt about the Wii U being abandoned for the NS, but after learning more about the switch, and the acquisition of my new job, I feel a Switch port would be ideal. But i still think the best solution would be to just have Bloodstained be released on both, with the WiiU version being a digital download only title. With all the support I see online for the NS, from EA, to Activision, I believe that it can and will work out well enough. We'll just have to wait and see. Allow me to clarify my position, I'm happy to do so if it seemed like I was simply demanding Nintendo get no support from us ever. I used to be a huge Nintendo fan (Fire Emblem being my #1 franchise from them obviously), but the Wii U has done so poorly I simply would consider it a bad business decision for Inti to spend what could be a considerable sum porting it to the console, especially since the Wii U wont even be in production anymore by the time Bloodstained is released. As for the Switch? I honestly hope it does well, and if it does, I'd certainly support Inti porting Bloodstained to it. I've not said I don't think Nintendo should ever get the game ever, simply that I don't know if making it a Launch title for the Switch before the system has a chance to prove its going to be a success. Making Bloodstained a Launch title for the Switch simply feels, to me, like a dangerous gamble. If the Switch sells very well and Bloodstained was part of that Launch it would be a great thing. But after the failure of the Wii U and general displeasure people have had with Nintendo regarding their public policies (such as Youtube, for one example) and their recent perplexing lack of 3rd party support, I simply cant say I think the Switch is going to be a big hit for absolute certain, and if it sold poorly at Launch and Inti had already ported Bloodstained to it, we could be looking at a major loss for a game and creator that can't afford it. I dont think I'm being a hypocrite here, I'm simply very worried about Bloodstaind's future, and the current state of Nintendo has me worried. All I was saying is that I think it would be a better idea to wait and see with the Switch, and port Bloodstained to it if the console has a good Launch instead of gambling on the Launch and porting it early.

I will simply say that if the Wii U version gets cancelled and you don't plan on getting another console for whatever reason (mainly hardware limitations) keep in mind that you can sell your copy on ebay for a good amount. Also a game released as of now on the Wii U have more probability of being pirated than the Switch who is still unknown.

add in the multitude of >rumors< on the switchs capabilities from reviewtechusa, gamexplain, spawnwave, smd64 and others wonder if this will influence anyones decisions on whether a switch port would be a good idea? (forgot the tentative date is in 2018 now, but getting a game out in the switches first 12-18 mths would definitely be a plus)

There is SO much excitement among media and gamers for Switch! I keep seeing it every day on the internet, reading news and comments under the articles or on youtube. In the last few days there have been rumors about bringing Gamecube games as Virtual console games on the Switch, and also there has been one game revealed that looks interesting, Seasons of heavenI would definitely make plans to release Bloodstained on this portable-console hybrid, no matter what happens with the Wii U port. Nintendo gamers that played GBA and DS trilogies of CV will definitely want Bloodstained. It will be a portable version of Bloodstained in the same quality as other console versions! What could be better than this?

Switch comes out in 3 months. That'll be at least a year before Bloodstained comes out. We'll know the degree of success/failure that the Switch enjoys by then. More than enough time to decide if a Switch version is worth the effort. I personally think it will be worth it. They cant possibly do worse than the WiiU plus said Switch port has to be easier, quicker and cheaper than a WiiU one now that we know that Switch natively supports UE4 unlike Nintendo's current console.

Can you blame them? The Wii U just isn't lookin' too hot and tempting right now. Especially with how it's died out lately. What with the Smash DLC being done, and none of the other cash cow VG's are showing up on it. Paper Mario Color Splash was a joke...

I am happy that Yooka-Laylee will be released on Switch instead of Wii U. It is the only other game I backed on Kickstarter and Switch is the console/handheld I plan to enjoy most of the time in the next few years. I hope IGA will decide to make a Switch version of Bloodstained as well. More and more I think about it, it makes more sense and makes me want it so much more!

it was quite fun reading all the salty comments from all the Wii U hopefuls... and in contrast, how mature we, the Bloodstained community, are handling this potential change from Wii U to the NS (I refuse to call it by it's official name. Too easy to make bad puns with it). I'm glad Yooka-Laylee is getting a NS version. Like Bloodstained can, better chance of good sales and that can lead to Yooka-Laylee 2.

There are people just like that in the Bloodstained comments section, including some that have gotten it into their heads that it would somehow be feasible for a backer only Wii U port to be made.
