There are people who want there to be a static portrait of the Miriam on the menu, and there are those who want a 3D model of Miriam that mimics the her status. I for one, lean toward of the latter.
These are my ideas:
Miriam moves on the menu screen... slight movements nothing like pointing at items or anything stupid like that.
when she has low health she breaths harder
when she is in a cold climate her breath is seen
when her health is drastically low she struggles to stay up and breaths harder (only if she does something similar in the game)
when she is poisoned, it shows her looking sick
get bored when she is in the menu for too long... and she just walks off the screen
maybe she shrinks when you move to the shard collection, and demonstrates the "powers" the shards give (e.g. moves, changes and familiars)
So what do you guys think? static portrait or living 3D model?
Ps I am not going to add a poll because I want to hear you thoughts on this... whether it is a "No", a "Yes" or if you want to add/minus ideas from my list.

I don't know about things being TOO silly like that. I want it to feel somewhat serious since it's a period game about demons. That seems more like something that'd happen in a Devil May Cry which has a lot of comedy tucked in there.
What I DO want to see is whatever visual changing equipment you have equipped shows up on her in the menu as well. So basically your in game model is the same model as your menu version, so whatever change you make to her shows up there. That way you can get a nice look at whatever equipment you have on.
Having said all this, I feel like I'd love a classic painted portrait of her more than anything but I'm fine either way.

I know what you mean, but it's not like she will stomp her feet and look pissed (her emotions are not really there for that) she will just simply walk away and I was thinking it would take a long time before she does this. So I don't think that would be too cartoony.

If they do stick with the 3D model for the menu screen, then they really should add animations to it. It's just more natural that way.
Some ideas: Have the game zoom in on various parts when you're equipping items, and having her pose change accordingly. And if you use potions, give her an animation that shows her drinking it.

but you could do something more fitting to the game. Maybe show her perform a spell with a shard, or take her weapon out and look at it. I feel like walking off just feels weird. ( I know I'm picky )
Naw that sounds good too, but again it will take a long time for her to walk off the screen... I just like the thought of someone pausing the game cooking dinner and walking back to see Miriam gone.

I would like a 3D model and she follows the cursor with her eyes ( little head moment) everytime you move it like as if she is looking at what your Controlling. if you add/equip something she does a animation, same for removing something. also for consumables, if you use a potion, she drinks a potion.
orrrrrrrrrrrrrr. have her pointing with her finger in sync with your cursor movements, kinda like shes is using the menu herself Through your controls. that would be appeasing to the eyes.

I'd prefer to have the her be active in the menu. Displaying her using the shards and holding weapons as I scroll through them. but not do anything silly like walk off screen or look at the cursor (unless these are Easter eggs the player can somehow activate. IE: entering a cheat code)
But if the team wants to stick with the menu being static then I would the option of having the menu display a portrait of miriam

Yeah, Persona 5 practically drips with style and, in honestly, that is the most impressive menu screen I've ever seen. The post-win screen of that game is fantastic as well.
In terms of the a Bloodstained 3D Character Menu, I'm fine with anything. But, if do make it more "dynamic" then I would expect it to be reflective of her personality. Since the details of Miriam's personality are few and far between, I would wait to see her personality as a whole.
Come on guys! If Miriam can power herself up via throwing a glass of wine on the floor, then having her walking out of a menu screen does not seem like a stretch. Bloodstained will certainly have it's serious moments, but it shouldn't take itself seriously 24/7. A touch of humor is always a nice change in pace!

thank you, I was wondering if that was such a sin to want her to do this... and again it would take her a long time (I was thinking about 30 min to an hour) to do it. and it's not like she is gonna look disgusted, mad, pissed or throw a tantrum... she would simply walk off the screen. I think it would go with her personality, I would think she would have better things to do besides standing there, so she'll leave.
now it would be stupid if she threw a tantrum or stomped off. I would agree with that... I just don't see her simply walking off screen as "silly"

Ok, I admit it's a fun idea. If Miriam does something like this I would actually be very impressed. And who knows, maybe a 3D model will grow on me. All of the castlevania games have portrait pictures for the menu screen, maybe it's time to change this. out with the old, and in with the new.
Also on that topic, I wonder what abilities the wine glass throw will upgrade, or boost, and how long it will last.
HRRRM.

Again if Iga chooses to have a static portrait I'd be all in. but if he is going to have what he has now, I would rather it be a dynamic menu.
...since there is a wine throwing ability, I wonder if there will be a wine drinking ability... and if she uses it too much, will she get drunk.

Omfg yaaas. That would certainly be interesting. Maybe if Miriam is in this 'intoxicated' state, she'll be able to see treasure chests or other hidden items that she wouldn't normally be able to see/acquire sober??? MAYBE?? IDEA FOR IGA-SAN PERHAPS?!? >:o

I don't know about treasure but monsters/demons... maybe that is the only way to find certain demons.

...and therefor you'd only be able to get 100% shard completion by experimenting with this mechanic!
I like the way you think, my good man. :p
