From what little I've managed to catch of the comments section of the Kickstarter campaign, which I was unable to participate in myself (Paypal backer here), I can hardly believe there isn't a thread dedicated to discussing this topic yet! Everyone from the Kickstarter comments, feel free to restate your opinions and ideas in this place so that those of us who weren't able to participate don't have to go scrolling through TENS OF THOUSANDS (an impressive result. Seriously, good job everyone!) of comments for this. There are two main topics I'd like to discuss here: Ideas for voice actors for Johannes and Miriam, and ideas for what role Robbie Belgrade could play. As for the latter, I already have some ideas myself: - He could voice the opening narration. Pretty self-explanatory.
- He could be the voice of a cool familiar, something like the "Swordbro" from Symphony of the Night. We all know how good he is at calling out attacks - "Dark Metamorphosis!" anyone? - he could perhaps voice the cool Knight familiar, the one Iga chose from the familiar contest, and shout some cool one-liners while attacking.
- A cool shopkeeper character. This'd give him the opportunity to be on the other side of the "I'm interested in this." conversation. Even though I wouldn't mind if his shopkeeper was less like the librarian and more like Hammer. Hammer was cool merely by virtue of his existence. Imagine how much cooler he would be if voiced by Robbie Belgrade.

I could see Mr. Belgrade as Johannes. Alter the Alucard voice a little bit to seem happier or more carefree-ish. Maybe that could also be the narrator voice as he tells the story of his friend's waking and journey.

I am actually really curious about the Japanese cast.
Here is my dream cast for the Japanese voice over:
- Kuwashima Houko voicing Miriam with her soft wispy voice
- Miyano Mamoru as Gebel, he did a phenomenal job as Alucard on the Tsuioku no Yasoukyoku drama CD
- Ishida Akira or Hirakawa Daisuke would be great as Johannes!

I usually prefer the japanese voices in my RPGs but when hearing about Hayter and Belgrade I can't care less about the japanese voices now. I would get the recorded message from Hayter if I had the money.
I think Belgrade would be awesome as narrator, or some kind of voice inside Miriam's head, like a familiar that acompanies her or something like that.
For Miriam is a tough one, not many will agree with me, but I think either Jo Wyatt, the voice of Darklaw in Professor Layton X Phoenix Wright, or Danielle Judovits, voice of Sophitia in Soul Calibur.

I know some people are going to be like WHAT on my second choice for Miriam but come on, I think she wouldn't be half bad... I wanna hear her "bad ass" voice

He should definitely voice SOMEONE in this game. He can certainly the do the "learned man with a core of steel" well, like that one guy from Valkyria Chronicles 2, what was his name, um, Zeri, that's the guy. So all joking aside, he WOULD make a great Johannes. |

We already have David Hayter as Gebel, so there's that. Miriam is a tricky one, I think perhaps Laura Bailey as many have mentioned above. I imagine a voice with somewhat of a tired edge to it, but also some concern.

I don't have any specific characters for these guys that I have in mind as the entire cast of characters hasn't been revealed yet, but I do have a list of people I'd like to see in the game. I nominate Travis Willingham. Very underrated Voice Actor. There's also Liam O'Brien: And finally, I'll throw in Ron Perlman if you can SOMEHOW get him: You know what, I feel lucky. Keith David. My favorite voice of all time. Beating out even James Earl Jones and Ron Perlman for me. Crispin Freeman or Jason Liebrecht would be good picks for Gebel for me. Dave Witenberg or J Michael Tatum for the blonde glasses guy, I think his name is Joannes.
For Miriam I saw someone posting Miyuki Sawashiro, great pick or Nabatame Hitomi played Kazousa from White Album 2 and other roles, I feel it's a great fit too. Am trying to think of more like them but don't remember all the names. For an English VA am down with Shanoa's actor I think it was Michelle Ruff.
For the Samurai guy nothing comes to mind now.
