This seems like a problem that could be easily fixed. Like after a certain amount of kills just give the enemy an icon like an x or something in the bestiary just to know its complete like yeah no this enemy doesnt give a shard so people dont spend hours farming the same enemy for no reason
I don't think this is a serious flaw, it is just a small problem for me, that i would want to see differently. But i do have confidence on IGA and the dev team. And yes, Morte has no Shard because that creature is a half-demon, it has some context and i like that. ANyway, i wanted to see if i was alone n that matter, and i think i am haha.
For what it's worth, I agree with your sentiment, for precisely the reasons you outlined (and were largely ignored on), re the fact that mandated souls = forced creativity and de facto variety. Narrative-driven laziness will just result in an ability variety that is comprised, to a disappointing proportion, of legitimately useful abilities at the obvious expense of abilities which exist for the fun factor. We could not expect, for example, to see anyone throwing paper airplanes with a lethargic "Hoi." under such a system.
No. I agree. I loved the paper air plane and throwing plates of hot curry. I think when they created these abilities, they were under stress to come up with something. And when humans do that they become silly.
But the paper air plane (and curry) ended up being super useful, and I think that was a mistake, it being useful. I have killed many a boss with that beast of a move.
These kinds of things end up being the stuff of legends. Something that we intended one way, ended up another, and it was good. We can't have accidental creative genius when we are regulating to what we only deem useful.
And I want to slay a boss with a plate of delicious mac and cheese. Please make me a silly butler/waiter enemy that drops weapon grade mac. Thank you.
RichterB: All right, I'm expecting to try to post my fan art piece before the end of the day 7/15 (CST). Hopefully it'll add to the latest rush of Bloodstained good feelings coming off the mode timeline news and CotM2 launch.

Scars Unseen: So is there a thread where people are talking about the poster? Maybe I just didn't look hard enough, but I didn't see one other than the shipping update.

purifyweirdshard: I don't believe so. You can make one if you want

Busterific: The posters are pretty sweet. For whatever reason I was expecting them to come folded rather than rolled up.

purifyweirdshard: At one point, you read that they would be rolled, but your brain told you "I'll believe that when I see it", so they became folded subconsciously.
