I'll admit that it's probably because of the gaming company that I grew up with (Nintendo) and the video game they focused on, but Nintendo stole the show the moment they finally went into details about Zelda: Breath of the Wild. To sum it up as short as possible, it's like Zelda meets the Elder Scrolls series to me personally. Huge open world to explore? Check. Lots of hidden things to discover in said world? Check. I could go on. Another person I know compared it more to Zelda 1 with Western RPG influences. (Equipment breaking and needing to be managed) I'm willing to believe that, especially considering the lack of civilization in this game so far. Zelda 1 certainly had no towns to actually visit, and the only people (and monsters) that helped you in that game were hidden shops and what not. So on my end, perhaps I should be saying "It's Zelda 1 with Skyrim and other Western RPG influences".
Sony had a great conference, but their game line up didn't really interest me at all. And the ones that did were ones I already knew were in the works, with the exception of Dishonored II, which I had a vague interest in. Sony's opening lead into God of War was impressive though, I'll admit that. If we're going by presentation only and not personal interest, I'd say Sony did the best this year. But my vote goes to Nintendo anyway.

Nuke that's what I mean, I know it was only Zelda, but I believe this was the first time in many years that Nintendo was even in the running for "winning" E3. I don't believe the whole "who won E3" thing but I think Nintendo did awesome for what they had. I'd like to thank every one for commenting on this thread and sharing their thoughts on E3.

I wasn't aware that E3 was a competition.

Sony had the best presentation overall but at the end of the day E3 is just E3.

While I don't see E3 as a competition, I'd say that BOTH Sony & Nintendo "won" this year. The only game in the Microsoft conference that interested me was, of course, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. Bloodstained will be multi-platform though, for Sony and Nintendo systems as well. I'd say that, other than Bloodstained, I'm definitely purchasing the new Zelda ("Breath of the Wild") and many of the games shown by Sony (Square Enix as well).

I agree with this guy.
However, wanted to say that I was at the Sony E3 Experience event, which is a theater showing of Sony's conference. It was actually pretty nice, and you get a lot of free stuff: physical items at the show, and several digital items afterward. I would recommend everyone here try that out if they can in years to come.
The show itself was strong, but just not games I'm entirely interested in. I can't really get into the AAA WOAH EPICNESS QTES LOOK AT GRAFX games that are big now. I am however a fan of how almost everything was gameplay, and Sony wasted no time on extraneous nonsense like media options, TV or any of that. I really don't like trailers that are entirely FMV or cutscenes, they're essentially useless to me knowing if I want a game or not. That said, Kojima's project is definitely all him and I approve of that. I would have liked to see a bit more on the indie side from Sony.
A little props to Microsoft on that one. I've been wondering how Bloodstained has gone more toward their side, and I'm thinking for a couple of reasons, one being that -because- it's the least popular platform option classically for such games, they're trying to raise awareness and bolster that. The other reason may be because MS pointedly approached them in some way to showcase it to dissolve some of the stigma that they have no such Japanese flavor games. That would be the main reason I've moved away from their offerings, a lack of JP developers and fighting games, but I will say that they somehow got way more obscure Cave shooters, SNK games and whatnot than Sony last generation.
Nintendo is that crazy eccentric neighbor that's always working on his newest crazy invention in his underground lab, but has kids that are super popular in school, Link and Mario ;p

Sony all the way.
I'm huge RE fan though and it was the most shocking reveal to me. Coming from a fan who's been waiting for the series to return to a slower paced horror experience, it's been a long time coming.

You know I never really understood the whole "Winning E3" thing either since I just look for whatever games look interesting to me. However If I had to give my impressions I'd say I enjoyed Microsoft and Nintendo. Microsoft because I thought Sea of Thieves and Scalebound looked cool and because they generally have more games releasing this year which I think is a big plus.
Nintendo simply because of Zelda, as it's easily my most anticipated game and is a franchise that I've followed since I was a 3 year old and always loved.
I thought EA and Ubisoft was pretty boring with each having one game I cared about (Battlefield and South Park). Bethesda was all about Dishonored 2 as I loved the first game and Skyrim Remastered so now my girlfriend can try out the game she always sees on my desk via the Alduin statue.
Sony did good but in my personal taste, I only had an attraction to Horizon Zero Dawn, now if they would have shown off Persona or Gravity Rush then I'd probably would have enjoyed their show more.

haha, I'm with you on that Miriam, don't really get into console wars and only Horizon really had me paying attention to what was going on because that game does look pretty fun. Even so, I doubt I'll ever actually play it. Persona was just briefly shown during the montage at the end, and by briefly shown I mean just Igor's head lool.
They also showed Nakoruru from KOF XIV for like one second, and that almost made the whole thing worth it haha. Play KOF. I know it looks bad, but it will play amazing. 50 characters. See me in the grand finalz
